FACTION SWIMMING CARNIVAL
We look forward to our Faction Swimming Carnival, taking place on Thursday 19 March for our Year 3-6 students.
I thank Sam Harris (Physical Education Teacher) for his organisation of this event. I have no doubt that Sam’s attention to detail will ensure everything runs swimmingly.
Please refer to the information sent out previously for further information. I look forward to seeing you poolside!
WORLD MATHS DAY
World Maths Day, taking place Wednesday 25 March, is a day where we celebrate all things Mathematics!
Our Pre-Primary – Year Six students will engage in a maths incursion, with Professor Maths, visiting our school. Students will have the opportunity to enjoy hands-on learning experiences, as they work together to solve mathematical problems.
Thank you to Natasha De Gois (Key Teacher – Numeracy) for organising this exciting experience!
PLAYGROUP
I remind our school community that playgroup takes place on Thursday mornings 9:00-11:00am in the Pre-Kindy classroom, during term time, facilitated by Alison Yeo (Teacher). Our playgroup presents a wonderful opportunity for similarly aged children and their parents to gather and connect.
Parents are responsible for the safety and supervision of the children they bring. Please note:
· Playgroup is open for children aged 0-4 years
· Our Code of Conduct applies to all playgroup attendees
· Parents are to bring their child’s hat, water bottle and a healthy snack (no peanuts please)
To help cover the cost of materials, parents are asked to make a gold coin donation each week. This is to be paid when entering the playgroup room, not at the school office. Parents are also required to sign in when entering the playgroup room.
CONGRATULATIONS!
I congratulate Nat Pin (Assistant Principal), Anneliese Paull and Bonnie Faed (Kindergarten Teachers) on their successful application to participate in Catholic Education Western Australia’s Embedding a Reggio Emilia Approach to Teaching and Learning Project.
Through participation in the project, participants will be invited to discover connections between the principles of the Educational Project of the Reggio Emilia Approach and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) within our school context. Over the course of 2026, participants will receive professional learning, mentoring, and attend a study tour in Melbourne.
This is a great opportunity for our school to further enhance the great work that is happening in our Early Childhood classrooms.

ST BRIGID’S FEAST DAY & FETE UPDATE

ST JOSEPH’S FEAST DAY MASS (20th March – 9am)
On Friday 20th March at 9am in the MacKillop Hall, we will celebrate St Joseph, the foster father of Jesus & husband of Our Lady.
St Joseph is a bit of an enigma and not much is known of him. He was a very humble and private man, who was very strong in faith.
SACRAMENTAL PROGRAM
Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend the Commitment Masses on the weekend.
If you were unable to attend a Commitment Mass on the weekend, you will need to contact the PARISH and make alternative arrangements.

Harmony Day
(In recognition of Harmony Day on 21st March)
On Wednesday 18th March, our school will celebrate Harmony Day. Students will take part in many diversity activities within their classrooms, exploring the importance of respecting differences and recognising the unique value each person brings to our world.
To celebrate the many cultures within our school community, children are encouraged to come dressed in orange or in traditional cultural dress.
World Down Syndrome Day
On Monday 23rd March, our school will be recognising World Down Syndrome Day (officially marked on 21st March).
To show our support and celebrate diversity and inclusion, students are invited to:
- Wear their sports uniform (blue St Brigid’s polo shirt)
- Add their favourite pair of crazy or odd socks
- Bring a gold coin donation
All donations will go towards supporting awareness and inclusion initiatives.
Thank you for helping us celebrate this important day and for your continued support.
Containers for Change!
Special bins have been placed in student's eating areas. These bins are for collecting 10 cent containers.
If you have a water bottle, can or carton with the 10c symbol on it, you can place it in the Containers for Change bin instead of the normal bin.
Every container we collect helps in two important ways:
It helps the environment by recycling.
And it raises money for our school.
The money we raise will go towards sustainability projects like improving our gardens, supporting our worm farm, and helping us become a more environmentally friendly school.
