Principal's Note

We have had a productive week here at MCA as our 5th through 8th graders navigate their NWEA MAP testing. It is always a blessing to see our students apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the year, and we are incredibly proud of the grit and perseverance they are showing in their testing sessions. These assessments are vital tools that help us better serve your child's unique academic needs as we look toward the end of the year.

As the weather begins to shift, we typically notice a bit more energy in the classrooms and hallways. While we love seeing our students' joy, this is a season where our partnership between our classrooms and home is more important than ever. We want to finish the semester well by maintaining our high standards for behavior and focus. Please continue to encourage your student to remain Christlike in every interaction. As our Dean of Students, Mr. Thomas, says: Be like Christ today! We are grateful for your support in reinforcing these expectations at home as we lead our students toward a strong finish.

One of the greatest joys of our Middle School community is the opportunity for our students to lead by serving others.

Recently, a handful of our 7th grade students have stayed in the gym to assist our Kindergarteners during their PE skating unit. From the tricky task of tightening and securing skates to offering a steady hand, our 7th graders are embodying what it means to be Christlike.

What an exciting chapel we had this week! Five high school students and three middle school students decided to be baptized and publicly announce their faith in Jesus Christ. This is what we are all about at Maranatha Christian Academy. Nothing gets us more elated than witnessing students live out their relationship with Jesus. Congratulations to those who got baptized this week!

Being the Hands and Feet of Christ

Last Friday our campus was quiet as our 5th through 8th graders headed out for our annual Serve Day. This was the first year that we pulled all of our middle school students into the opportunity to serve the community around us. It was a beautiful morning spent acting as the hands and feet of Christ throughout Brooklyn Park and the surrounding areas. Thank you to those who were praying for the weather to hold as well. We did not get rained out!

Throughout the day our students truly embodied the heart of a servant. We received several comments from our host sites regarding the work ethic and respectful attitudes of our Middle Schoolers. Seeing our students trade their textbooks for work gloves to bless our neighbors is a powerful reminder of why we value this partnership with you. We aren't just growing scholars; we are cultivating leaders who look for ways to put others before themselves.

Mental Health Awareness Week Mental Health Awareness Week

Next week, our school will be recognizing Mental Health Awareness Week with activities focused on connection, appreciation, self-care and support. One of the highlights will be our “You Matter Grams,” which give students the opportunity to acknowledge someone meaningful in their lives.

Students can purchase a You Matter Gram that includes a Crumbl Cookie, a drink, and a handwritten note to brighten someone’s day. Pre-orders will take place this Thursday and Friday during lunch in the Mall Hall, with deliveries happening next Tuesday. This is a simple but powerful way to spread kindness and remind others that they matter.

Cash & Credit Card will be accepted.
