Dear Parker Families,

Get ready for a short but busy week ahead at Parker! Please note that there is no school on Monday, but we hit the ground running on Tuesday, October 13th, for School Picture Day. Be sure to send your students to school with their completed order forms.

On Wednesday we have our second PTO meeting of the school year. Please join us at 6:30 PM in the Parker Library! It was wonderful to see such a large turnout at our first meeting in September, and we hope to keep that great interest and energy going. Whether you are a regular attendee or coming for the first time, we would love to see you there!

Our October Best Buddies event is Pumpkin Painting! Join us on Tuesday October 20th immediately following dismissal to paint pumpkins with our new friends. This event is open to all 4th grade students and ACCESS and MSS students across all grade levels. Students must have an active Best Buddies Registration. Registration for the event on 10/20 will close on Friday 10/16 at 3pm to ensure we have enough pumpkins for everyone. Sign Up here! Email Kristen Ryan at klryan@billericak12.com with questions.

On Friday, October 30, 2026, we will be celebrating the season with a Wear Fall Colors Spirit Day! Our annual PTO Trunk or Treat on Friday, October 23rd will be how the Parker celebrates Halloween. This Spirit Day is a chance for everyone to show off their favorite autumn shades, like reds, yellows, oranges, and brown. To ensure an inclusive environment for all, we want to remind families that no costumes, masks, or costume-like accessories will be permitted on this day. We look forward to a colorful and fun day celebrating the fall season together!

These students earned their certificates by tracking their reading minutes at home with parental supervision. One student read for an impressive 405 minutes!

Looking for part-time work with the same schedule as your student? The Parker School is seeking a Part-Time Building Substitute for 3 days per week (preferably Wednesday through Friday). Enjoy a flexible schedule while staying connected to our school community!

For the safety and smooth dismissal of all students, please send any written notes regarding a change to your child’s dismissal plan to the classroom teacher on or before the day of the change.

Please do not email teachers with same-day or last-minute dismissal changes, as teachers are busy with students throughout the school day and may not see your message before dismissal.

If an unexpected or emergency change arises during the school day, particularly after 1:00 p.m., please call the school office directly. This allows us to make sure your child and the appropriate staff members receive the updated information before dismissal begins.

We are looking forward to our upcoming Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 29th!

This year, we are utilizing PTC Wizard for all conference scheduling. This is the same platform used by Marshall and BMHS, so if you have older students at those schools, you may already have an existing account.

To successfully schedule your time slots, the first step is to set up your Parent/Guardian account.

Once your account is created, you will be able to schedule your conferences for Thursday, October 29th. Please use the linked directions if you need any assistance with the account setup or scheduling process.
