Principal Message
Dear Henry Families,
We are looking forward to a fun-filled week at Henry as we celebrate our core values—Kind, Responsible, Persevere, and Inclusive! Our second half day is coming up on Wednesday, which means our Bulldogs will have another opportunity to spend time with their buddy class and continue building those special relationships through fun, meaningful activities.
Friday, October 9, will also bring our PTO’s Henry Hustle Fun Run! All students will participate alongside their buddies, making this a wonderful opportunity to celebrate teamwork, school spirit, and perseverance while being active and having fun!
Don’t forget to participate in the Henry Hustle! We encourage all families to get involved by helping your student collect pledges and donations and by cheering them on as they hustle with their buddies. Every contribution makes a difference and helps support our school!
We are excited to partner with our amazing PTO for a week filled with connection, character, fun, and fundraising. Thank you to our families for supporting these experiences and helping make Henry such a special place to learn and grow!

You’ll have the opportunity to learn directly from members of our intervention and support teams, including Reading, EL, MOSAICS, Counseling, Speech & Language, and our Instructional Coach.
The evening will include two short sessions, giving you the opportunity to learn about different areas that may be helpful for your family. Henry Hustle Spirit Week
Prop P Community Webinar
The cost of operating schools is rising faster than funding, creating a projected $75 million shortfall over the next 10 years. Prop P on the November 3 ballot would provide stable funding for Parkway teachers, classrooms, safety, and student support.
Join Superintendent Dr. Melissa Schneider and Chief Financial Officer Carrie Nunn for a Parkway Community Webinar to learn about Proposition P: why it’s on the ballot, and what passage or failure would mean for Parkway schools and our community.
When: Wednesday, October 7 at 7 p.m.
Livestream the webinar at www.parkwayschools.net. Can’t make it live? A recording of the presentation will be available.
Get the facts about Prop P at www.parkwayschools.net/Prop-P
What would Proposition P support in Parkway schools?
Attracting and retaining teachers and staff
Safety and security
Classroom resources
Student programs and services
Long-term financial stability
Did you know that before placing Proposition P on the November ballot, Parkway reduced spending by $15.4 million?
The reductions impacted every school and department budget, professional development expenses, and other operating costs. Further reductions would increasingly impact students, teachers, programs, and services. and classrooms.

Car Dropoff/Pickup Reminder
Please review the following information regarding the drop-off/pickup procedure at Henry Elementary.
In collaboration with the Ballwin Police Department, to keep our car drop-off & pick-up lane safe and the traffic moving on Henry Ave, please follow the route through the neighborhood as outlined below. Please help us keep the non-school traffic moving on Henry Avenue by following this right turn only plan and NOT making a left turn from Henry Ave into the school lot. Please only enter the Henry lot AFTER you have been on Guenevere.
DROP-OFF LOOP
From BOTH DIRECTIONS on Henry Ave:
Turn onto Clayworth Dr.
Left on Ruthwood Dr.
Left on Guenevere Dr.
Right on Henry Ave.
Right into Henry Elem
Proceed to the Rear of the School
Right Turns Only for Entering the School Drive! Please enter the school drive only from Northbound Henry Ave (going toward Clayton Rd) AFTER you have LOOPED THROUGH THE NEIGHBORHOOD and are exiting the neighborhood from Guenevere. THE LINE BEGINS ON GUENEVERE.
DO NOT TURN DIRECTLY ONTO GUENEVERE
If you turn directly on Guenevere, you will have to make a U-Turn to enter the line. This causes a major safety issue for those children walking to school. It also upsets our neighbors when cars turn around in their driveways. Please help us be safe and good neighbors by entering Guenevere only by using the route through the neighborhood. When waiting in line, please be considerate of neighbors needing to enter or exit their driveways.
FROM GLENMEADOW DR OR SPRING MEADOWS DR
If you are coming from Glenmeadow Dr or Spring Meadows Dr, please turn Right onto Henry Avenue and loop back to make a right turn into the Henry drive.
SAFETY REMINDERS
For safety, please do not use cell phones in the pick-up line where students are loading. Students should always load on the passenger side of the vehicle in order to avoid walking between cars. When exiting the lot after picking up your child, please be aware of a crosswalk in between the parked buses that people use when entering the parking lot. Do not exceed 10 mph in the parking lot
.
PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF LANE
Please refer to the map below for the loading/unloading zones, waiting zones, and exit path.

Staff Bulldog Brag
Did you know that families can recognize staff members with Bulldog Brags, just like we do for students? If you or your child notice a staff member demonstrating one of our Henry Core Values—Kind, Responsible, Persevere, or Inclusive—we invite you to share it using the button below.
Each staff member who receives a Bulldog Brag will be honored with a certificate and a special surprise. As part of our character education, it is important for students to see adults modeling these values every day—and to hear real examples of what they look like in action!
PTO Updates
Henry Families,
It's time for the Henry Hustle Fun Run! A flyer was sent home with students last Friday and we wanted to share a quick reminder about why this fundraiser is so exciting for our school.
PTO is running this event and using FundHub as our sharing platform, which means that 95-97% of funds raised will stay at Henry.
The Henry Hustle will directly support improvements to our school grounds, including:
Adding benches to the front of the school
Adding to our existing outdoor learning area
Building funds toward a sun shade for our future playground
We are excited to make these spaces more welcoming, functional, and enjoyable for our students and families. Every donation and every bit of participation helps us move these projects forward!
Next week we will continue to raise money, celebrate with a spirit week, and conclude with the run with their buddy class, October 9.
Thank you for participating and helping make our fall fundraiser a success. We can’t wait to see our Henry community come together!
With gratitude,
Henry PTO
