What is coming up after half-term during week one? (Little Pearls) What is coming up after half-term during week one? (Little Pearls)

When we return after half-term we will be looking at celebrations. As part of this we will revisiting Halloween as it will be a recent experience and of course we will be looking at Bonfire Night and learning about Diwali.

We will be reading 'Room on the Broom', 'Sparks' and 'Best Diwali'.

As part of our focus, we plan to have fun creating some giant art, working together, mixing potions in the water area and recreating some celebrations that are personal to us in the home corner.

Have a lovely half-term and we look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 2nd November.

Attendance Attendance

As a school, we want to encourage high attendance as we know the positive impact this has on children not just academically but socially too. Many schools give out rewards for 100% attendance but this is not something we do. We appreciate that children can be ill and do not want to discourage those who always attend when they can. We are parents ourselves and can appreciate the battles that sometimes occur in a morning trying to get your child to school when they are not feeling it that day so do want to try to help with this.

We do not want to penalise children for being off but want something that we can all aim for to encourage high attendance. As a team, we have decided that we will trial a new approach this summer term. For every 50 sessions that your child attends they will earn some form of reward. The first one will be non-uniform for the day, which is always popular. This means if your child is ill they do not miss out, all children will achieve this when they have earnt 50 sessions. We hope that if for example your child is on 45 sessions it might encourage them to attend to reach their 50.

This week's attendance 19th - 23rd October:

Pearls - 84% Below expected standard

Rubies - 98% Good

Diamonds -95% Below expected standard

Sapphires - 97% Expected Standard
