What Was ExtraTorrent?
ExtraTorrent was one of the most popular torrent sites worldwide, offering movies, TV shows, music, games, and software. Known for its massive database and easy-to-use interface, it became a favorite among torrent enthusiasts before its sudden closure.
Why Was ExtraTorrent Shut Down?
The shutdown in 2017 was due to a combination of factors:
Copyright Issues – Hosting torrent links violated copyright laws.
Legal Pressure – Authorities cracked down on piracy-focused sites.
Despite its shutdown, clones, proxies, and mirrors continue to circulate online.
How Do ExtraTorrent Proxy Sites Work?
A proxy site acts as an intermediary server that fetches data from ExtraTorrent’s cloned versions and delivers it to users.
Proxy Sites – Redirect requests through another server, bypassing ISP restrictions.
Mirror Sites – Replicas of the original ExtraTorrent database, hosted on different domains.
Both allow users to regain access when the original site is blocked.
Why Use ExtraTorrent Proxies Instead of Alternatives?
