Falcon Update
Heritage Middle School-Week of June 1st
Letter from the Principal
Dear HMS Families,
This past week was a wonderful one at Heritage. On Thursday, we celebrated the promotion of our 8th-grade students. It was amazing to watch them walk across the stage and celebrate all they have accomplished during their three years at Heritage.
We also celebrated the retirement of Gale Raschke, who has dedicated 25 years of service to District 100 as a paraeducator. We thank Gale for her years of commitment to our students and wish her all the best in her retirement.
Our 6th and 7th grade teachers have some fun and engaging activities planned for students during these final days of school. It is hard to believe that the last day of school is June 2! Students will be dismissed at 3:17 p.m.
6th and 7th grade families you must register for the 2026-2027 school year! It is a busy time of year, but we need to know who is coming to Heritage in the fall so we can plan accordingly. To begin the process please review the flyer below for required registration documents and visit our registration website.
As we close another school year, I would like to thank our students, staff, and families for their partnership and support throughout the year. We are grateful for the trust you place in us each day and for the many ways you contribute to making Heritage such a special place to learn and grow. We wish all of our families a safe, relaxing, and enjoyable summer. We look forward to welcoming our students back to school in August.
Thank you,
Michelle Hauer

Website Survey
As we approach the one year mark of launching our new district website, we would appreciate your feedback. Family input played an important role in the original selection and design of the website, and we would love to hear how it is working for you. Please take a few moments to complete this brief survey to share your thoughts as we continue working to improve communication and ensure our website best meets the needs of our families and community.
Family Resource
District 100 strives to ensure that all students and families feel safe, supported, and valued in our school communities. Fostering an inclusive and welcoming school environment is deeply ingrained in the culture of our district and is fundamental to the success of our students. Resources to support families with immigration-related concerns are available on the family resources page on our website.

Heritage Spirt Wear
Purchase Friday spirit wear by using the link below.
PBIS Rewards
We utilize an app called PBIS Rewards where students earn points throughout the school year for being Responsible, Respectful and Safe. We have a PBIS store that we open for students to purchase fun items with their points. We also do raffles, field trips and a winter extravaganza that students can utilize their points throughout the year. We encourage students to use their points by the end of the year as they do not roll over!
StopIt
This week, students will download STOPit to their iPads. This is an online application that Heritage students have access to. This application allows students to anonymously report incidents of bullying, misconduct or general concerns. All reports go to the support service team and administration, which allows us to act quickly and in real time to any concerns or incidents.
Breakfast & Lunch
Students at Heritage receive free breakfast and lunch each day if they choose to participate, or they may bring their own lunch from home. As a healthy school, we ask that students do not bring pop, energy drinks, or large bags of snacks.
Breakfast will be served each morning before students head to their Period 1 class. Lunch will take place at the scheduled time according to the bell schedule, and students will also have the option to participate in recess during their lunchtime.
Below will be where you can find the menus for Heritage through OrganicLife.
