Wildcat Weekly

Our first FULL week of school was definitely a success! Students are settling into the routines very well, allowing our teachers to dive into instruction. Our Wildcats are going to learn and grow so much this year and it is all well underway! Let's finish up the month of August strong and aim to be here everyday.

✨We're looking to feature a few WOW family dogs on our Facebook and we'll have some dog treats to share with them. 🐾

Congratulations to 1st grade teacher, Ms. Rodriguez for being the recipient of our very first Parent Recognition certificate of the year! Parents, we'd love to hear from you when our staff are doing amazing things. You'll always find a Google form here in the Wildcat Weekly if you ever want to recognize a WOW staff member.

We welcome you to attend our Open House on September 3rd! Teachers will run 2 repeated sessions to accomodate for those of you with multiple children. You only need to attend one session. See you there! We will also have a virtual opportunity for our Welcome Back Session on September 4th at 9:00am.

✨Student safety is our top priority. Please do not drop students off in the parking lot and utilize our designated car drop-off lanes instead.

✨Help us keep our car lanes moving efficiently by having your child ready to get out of the car quickly.

✨Please do not slow down or stop your vehicle in our crosswalk to watch your child walk in the building. You are always welcome to park in the front lot and walk your child up to our front doors to have a little extra time for those morning hugs.

✨Don't forget, student entry at our cafeteria door ends at 7:20. At that time, students will need to go to the front of the building.

✨Parents, thank you so much for bearing with us as we worked out dismissal kinks. It's going great!

✨Don't forget to keep your car tag displayed until your child is put in the car.

If you are visiting for lunch, please understand that your visitor's badge only gives you access to our central back courtyard. Parents should not be following students out to recess, the cafeteria or back to classrooms without authorization through the front office.

The Judson ISD Director of Safety & Security, Frank Garcia, is looking for parents interested in serving on the district safety committee. If interested, please send him an email at frgarcia@judsonisd.org. Attached you will also see an informational flyer he has shared about the reunification process in the event of an emergency.

We invite our Wildcats to join our staff in participating in our weekly spirit days. Every Monday is College/Career/Military Spirit Day and on Fridays, we want to see your Wortham Oaks spirit shirts! We will also have plenty of other fun spirit days throughout the year. 👕

A reminder from Mrs. Zapata! We still have several returning families that need to complete their updated registration in Skyward for the 26-27 school year. There are forms that must be completed for her and Nurse Gill to be able to support your child throughout the year. Thank you!
