REDESIGN TEAM UPDATE πͺ
We are engaging in a collaborative design process to imagine whatβs possible for Felicita. Our ReDesign team will work with our entire community to elevate and build upon our strengths. We will consider how to design our school to ensure every learner cultivates the knowledge, skills and mindsets of the EUSD Learner Profile.
We will be meeting as a ReDesign Team this year over 4 full days, with the goal of proposing our ideas in May. We want your feedback and we want you to elevate your voice. Your input is critical to this process! If you have not provided feedback yet, it is not too late to do so. We will still be conducting interviews throughout this process to inform our path. Our focus is to design βwithβ all stakeholders, not βforβ all stakeholders.
In addition to the Discovery Day last week, our ReDesign Team met this week to spend time looking at the Framework for the Future and Learner Profiles, looking at the work we are already doing, and connecting it to where we want to go.
So far, the data trending for our school from various stakeholders include:
Parents: Pleased with communication, want more traffic safety, want real-world learning, and want more science.
Students: Want more science, art, better playgrounds, and real-world learning experiences.
Staff: Believe connections to real-life learning is important, change is necessary, and value the importance of a learner centered approach.
The next step in the process will be for the ReDesign Team to conduct school visits to see how other schools bring learning to life and determine how to implement and transform those ideas to meet the needs of our school.
We will continue to keep you updated on our school redesign journey as it unfolds!

KINDER FAMILY LUNCH π΄
Kinder Families, please join us for a special lunch just for you and your Kinder kiddo! On 10/29 from 12:30-1:10 bring a picnic blanket to eat lunch on the grass with your child. Students may either get lunch from the cafeteria, or you may bring them a special meal of your choice. Students LOVE this day and are always so eager for you to join. We look forward to seeing you there!
FAMILY SURVEY
From Your Community Specialist, Ms. Shaffer
Thank you to those who have submitted our Family Feedback Survey. We use this information to guide our programs that we offer and to get new ideas and concerns from our most important community! If you have not completed your survey, please use this QR code to access it or you can come by the school and Ms. Laura, our Family Liaison, or I can help! Thank you so much for your support and I hope I got to see you at our event on Friday, which will help us understand and address your needs. Please submit as soon as possible!
ATTENDANCE MATTERS β
Help us reach our attendance goal of 94% average daily attendance!
Regular student attendance plays a critical role in our collective mission to ensure every student achieves their fullest potential.
Why Attendance Should Be a Top Priority:
Academic Achievement: Regular attendance is fundamental to student success. Each school day is a building block in the learning process. Consistent attendance helps students keep up with coursework, understand key concepts, and perform better academically.
Social and Emotional Development: School is a place where students develop crucial social skills and emotional resilience. Frequent absences can hinder their ability to form strong relationships with peers and teachers, impacting their overall development.
Future Opportunities: Consistent attendance is linked to higher graduation rates and better long-term outcomes, including higher education and career prospects. By prioritizing attendance, we are directly contributing to students' future success.
School Culture: Regular attendance fosters a positive school culture and enhances the learning environment for everyone. It creates a sense of community and ensures that all students have equal access to the resources and support they need.
Congrats to all the attendance winners with the highest attendance last week!
