So many fun things happened this week! We had field trips, fun STEAM projects, guest speakers and more. Ask your child about their week.

Dinner is served!! Tuesday night is Slim Chickens Night. Join us!

Planning ahead: There is no school on Friday, October 18th.

We will be having a Candy Drive the week of October 14th for the Springdale Police Department Halloween Fest. Donated candy needs to be brought to room 308. The class in each hall that donates the most candy will get donuts with Officer Oktay (Our SRO).

The next PTA meeting is this week! Tuesday at 8:00 AM. Check-in at the office and meet in the library.

The Color Fun Run Sponsorship information has been sent home. Return any business sponsorships by 10/10 to have your business logo on the shirt/sign.

Save the Date (It's on October 31st!!) and plan to come watch your child have the best time. Watch for information about individual fundraising. We will move to an online platform to make it easier this year. We are working to raise money to update the jungle gym playground equipment! See the image below!

Student stress is usually related to everyday experiences, worries, and challenges at school, at home, or within a peer group. For example, students may get stressed due to friendship conflicts, low self esteem, academic difficulties, and family problems. While each student responds to stress differently, unresolved stress can lead to feelings of anxiety, irritability, poor concentration, aggression, sickness, and fatigue.

Kids can benefit from learning and practicing stress management techniques. Students who develop these skills are better able to cope with stress in a healthy way. Once students can identify when and why they are experiencing stress, they can take a proactive approach to managing it. Some of these skills may include:

• Problem solving

• Talking to a friend or a family member

• Writing in a journal

• Drawing or doing something creative

• Exercising

• Focusing on self-care (eating well, getting enough sleep, etc…)
