LA TRADUCCIÓN ESTÁ DISPONIBLE HACIENDO CLIC EN EL BOTÓN TRADUCIR EN LA PARTE INFERIOR DE LA PÁGINA

Dear Campestre Parents,

We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for all your hard work and dedication to our Cobras students. Your unwavering support for our community is invaluable, and it truly makes a difference in the lives of our students.

As we continue to promote school spirit, let’s ensure we represent Campestre to the best of our abilities at all events. We want to ensure all our Cobras are safe and that we are the best representation of our amazing community and campus. We are also excited to announce that we will be receiving the District 4th 6 Weeks Attendance Award for having the best attendance among elementary schools in our category! This achievement would not be possible without your trust in us and your commitment to ensuring our Cobras attend school every day.

Please remember that online registration for grades K to 5 is now open, and the registration window for pre-kindergarten will open in April. The transfer window is also open, so we encourage you to submit your transfer applications for the 2025-2026 school year as soon as possible.

Thank you once again for your trust and support. Together, we are making a significant impact!

Warm regards,

Ms. Shreve

Volunteer Opportunities

Is your resolution to get more involved in your child's education this year? We are in need of additional volunteers for the Spring Semester. CAMPESTRE LIBRARY PARENT SMORE-March

Why Reading Every Day Matters: A Parent's Guide

· Enhance Vocabulary and Language Skills: Reading introduces children to new words, phrases, and

sentence structures, enriching their vocabulary and language abilities.

· Boost Cognitive Development: The process of reading stimulates the brain, enhancing

comprehension, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

· Improve Concentration and Focus: Daily reading practices help children develop longer attention

spans and better focus, which are crucial for academic and personal success.

· Encourage Empathy and Understanding: Through stories, children experience diverse perspectives

and emotions, fostering empathy and emotional intelligence.

· Stimulate Imagination and Creativity: Books transport children to different worlds, sparking their

imagination and creativity, and inspiring their own storytelling.

· Build a Lifelong Love for Learning: Cultivating a reading habit early on instills a lifelong passion for

learning, curiosity, and exploration.

Tips for Encouraging Daily Reading:

1. Create a Cozy Reading Nook: Designate a special place for reading.

2. Offer a Variety of Books: Provide books that match your child’s interests.

3. Make Reading Interactive: Discuss the stories and ask questions.

4. Set a Routine: Integrate reading into daily schedules.

Marking Period Three is coming to an end, and intersession camp will start immediately afterward. If your child’s teacher has provided a permission slip, we kindly request that you ensure their attendance. Teachers will be conducting final interventions in preparation for the STAAR exams. Your child's participation in the intersession is essential for their academic success. We urge you to prioritize their attendance.

Intersession

Monday March 10-13 from 8:00-12:00

Spring break is a fantastic opportunity for parents and children to bond while learning together. Here are some engaging and educational activities you can try:

1. Science Experiments: Simple experiments like making a volcano with baking soda and vinegar or creating a rainbow with a glass of water and a flashlight can be both fun and educational.

2. Nature Walks: Explore local parks or nature reserves. Bring a field guide to identify plants, birds, and insects. You can also collect leaves or rocks and research them at home.

3. Reading Together: Choose a book series or a few interesting books to read together. Discuss the stories, characters, and what you both learned from them.

4. Cooking and Baking: Involve your child in the kitchen. Cooking teaches math (measuring ingredients), science (how ingredients change when mixed or heated), and life skills.

5. Museum Visits: Visit local museums, science centers, or historical sites. Many museums offer interactive exhibits and activities for children.

6. Art Projects: Get creative with art supplies. Try painting, drawing, or crafting. You can also explore art history and try to recreate famous artworks.

7. Gardening: Start a small garden or plant some flowers. Gardening teaches responsibility and provides a hands-on way to learn about biology and ecology.

8. Educational Games and Puzzles: Board games, card games, and puzzles can be both fun and educational. Look for games that involve strategy, math, or language skills.

9. DIY Projects: Build something together, like a birdhouse or a simple piece of furniture. This can teach problem-solving, planning, and basic carpentry skills.

10. Virtual Field Trips: Many museums, zoos, and aquariums offer virtual tours and live streams. This can be a great way to explore the world from home.

Reminder: School is in Session The Week of March 3rd-7th!

We want to remind you that school will be in session next week. To make it even more exciting, we will be raffling off daily prizes! These prizes include fun items like books, games, ice cream cones, school supplies ect.. Please ensure your child attends school every day to have a chance to win. Regular attendance is important for your child's learning and helps them stay engaged with their classmates and teachers. We look forward to seeing all our students there!

Safety

Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority. We kindly ask all parents and guardians to adhere to the speed limits in school zones and to use the crosswalks correctly. Please avoid stopping in the middle of the road to drop off or pick up your child, as this can create hazardous conditions for everyone. By following these guidelines, we can work together to maintain a safe and orderly environment for all our students.

Sincerely,

Mrs. McCullough

ATTENDANCE - STUDENT ABSENCE REPORTING ATTENDANCE - STUDENT ABSENCE REPORTING

There are three ways of reporting an absence. The easiest way is to send an email to attendancecampestre@sisd.net . You can attach a picture of a written note from you or a doctor's note. You may also send a note with your scholar, but email is safest. Either way, we must have an excuse note from you or your doctor.

Please include as much detail as possible:

  • Child's name
  • Grade
  • Teacher
  • Student ID
  • Reason for the absence

As a courtesy you may email your child's teacher to notify them that your child will be absent, via class Dojo. Official attendance will be a note or email.

For doctor's appointments, take your child to appointment, but bring them back with a doctor's note the same day and your child will be counted as present.

NEW: This year, district policy indicates parents/guardians have 72 hours to submit excuse notes justify a child's absence.
