New Communication Method Coming Nov 2025!
We are in the process of setting up a new way to communicate and send notifications with our 4-H families and leaders. Please look for the information in the November 2025 4-H newsletter!
Achievement Applications Due November 14th!
It's time again to submit your 4-H Achievement Applications as the 4-H year nears completion.
The Achievement Application will be used at the state level to selection winners for 4-H Congress, Conference, scholarships, and other leadership opportunities that arise statewide. By having one single form that more closely resembles the kinds of questions being asked on college applications and in resumes, 4-H’ers will be better prepared to be college and job ready while keeping a record of the achievements.
The Nebraska 4-H Achievement Application can be found at: https://4h.unl.edu/achievement-application.
All Achievement Applications are due in the office by Friday, November 14th! Let us know as you have questions.
4-H Council Senior Scholarships & Diamond Clover Forms Due Nov 14!
Don’t forget that 4-H Council Senior Scholarships and Diamond Clover forms are all due in the office by Friday, November 14th. You must turn in an achievement application to be eligible for the 4-H Council Senior scholarship. The scholarship application form is attached here. If you need a copy of your Diamond Clover form that was submitted in April, please call the office and we can send it to you. Also, if you would like to have a copy of the application forms mailed to you please contact the office.
Happy Rock 4-H Club Open House
Happy Rock 4-H Club invites everyone to help celebrate its 70th anniversary as a 4-H Club on Sunday, Oct. 26, with an open house from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the 4-H building on the Jefferson County Fairgrounds.
“Happy Rock has a long history in Jefferson County of helping young people learn by doing and make the best better,” said current organizational leader Lana Likens. “The club also has a long history of adults giving of their time and energy as volunteers.”
The open house will include a display of scrapbooks and memorabilia, as well as games, activities and treats. Additional items of memorabilia are welcome. Anyone with memorabilia to share should contact Likens at 402-587-0432.
At 3 p.m. there will be a brief program including some memories and history, and an opportunity for anyone interested to share memories.
Happy Rock currently has about 55 members, ages 5-18 (including Clover Kids.) The club meets monthly from January through May. Club meetings include learning about conducting meetings and parliamentary procedure; information about 4-H events, projects and activities; demonstrations by club members; and hands-on projects and activities (which are often either items which can be shown at the fair or ideas for the members to do on their own to exhibit at the fair.)
For more information, please contact Likens at 402-587-0432, or the Jefferson County Extension office at 402-729-3487.
