A Message from Principal Woofter A Message from Principal Woofter

We are close to wrapping up our first 5 day week of the school year! It was nice to be able to build up to a full week of school and the students seem to be handling it well. The cooler temperatures have also helped so students can enjoy their time outdoors without getting too hot.

Students have been participating in some assessments to collect baseline data and help teachers to determine how to best meet the needs of your student. Please read the attached information on our new MAP Growth Assessment that all students will be taking for both ELA and Math in our elementary schools. We look forward to implementing this tool and will provide opportunities to share the information with you!

Tomorrow, we will have our Fun Run Assembly! Students will get to hear about the Fun Run and the prizes we are working to earn as a school. They will also view a special video to remind about the expectations and, most important, how we can have fun while participating in the event. Check out the PAC website to get more information about the Fun Run and specific grade level times. Families are invited to come to watch their child participate!

Next week, we have our first PAC Dine Out at Araceli's Cocina from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. We are thankful for these incredible community partners that are willing to give back to our schools. Come out and enjoy some delicious tacos and support a great local business!

Happy Friday Eve!

Kindly,

Sarah

Please Keep the Car Line Moving Please Keep the Car Line Moving

Before school, when dropping off your student in the car line, please do so in a timely manner and pull all the way forward. Your student needs to be able to independently enter or exit your vehicle on the curb side. The car line is not the place to make a change in your student's dismissal plans or to arrange playdates. If you need extra time to coordinate plans with your student or if you need to assist your child in getting out of the car, please pull over and park in a designated parking space. This will keep our traffic flowing and our students safe.

After school, when picking up your student please pull all the way forward and DO NOT block the sidewalk. We have lots of walkers who need to be able to safely use the sidewalk to walk home after school. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our students safe.

New! Library Media Center Update New! Library Media Center Update

Welcome back to the Library Media Center! We are excited to have all the students back in the building.

We have been busy getting ready for students to start checking out books again. As we prepare to start seeing all of the students during their classroom library time, please check your child’s account on ParentVue to see if they still have any lost/damaged book fees from previous years. Children with outstanding library fees will still be allowed to check out a book at the start of the school year, but the lost book fee will remain on your child’s account.

Payment for any lost or damaged items may be made online through ParentVue or if you prefer to send in cash or a check, please be sure to include your child’s name and grade so that we can apply the payment and clear the book fee.

For more information or to view Sherwood’s full Library Media Center Policy, please click here or visit the school website.

We can’t wait to see all the new books our students discover during their library visits this year!

Student Public Library Card Partnership Student Public Library Card Partnership

We're excited to share that our school is continuing our partnership with the Sherwood Public Library to give students access to more books! By joining this optional program, your child can get a free public library card. With this card, they can borrow books and other materials from any Washington County library. Plus, they can read ebooks and audiobooks right on their school computer using a special app called SORA.

If you would like your child to be part of this program, you can opt-in. We will send an e-signature form to all families via ParentSquare soon. If your child already has a public library card, no action is necessary.

Please note that library cards will be ready to use in January 2026. For more information, see our FAQ.

The District will be welcoming volunteers back into our school buildings this year. All volunteers will need to complete and have an approved background check on file prior to volunteering (this must be renewed each school year). The background check process can take 7-10 business days, so please allow sufficient processing time if you are planning to volunteer for a specific event.

Our Archer Glen Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) is creating an updated email list for school information and other ways to support our school. If you are looking to volunteer at Archer Glen this year, please sign up using the link shared here. If you are new to Archer Glen you will need to create a new login. Past volunteers can use their old sign in. (Please note that this link does not work well on your phone so you will need to use another device).

ALL parents will need to fill out their information again as the system gets updated each fall. The registration will ask some questions about volunteer preferences, please still answer the questions and select all activities you might be interested in learning more about!

You can find out more information about how to sign up for volunteer opportunities at Archer Glen using HelpCounter by visiting Archer Glen PAC's Instagram handle here.
