A Note from the Principal
Happy March!
Spring is in the air! It is hard to believe that the third nine weeks is nearly complete! If you have not already completed your registration for next year, go ahead and cross something off your list for school year 25-26! Current student registration is still open.
This time of year is filled with new learning and spiral review. Consistent attendance is always important, but any absence at this time may mean students miss opportunities to learn critical concepts.
I hope the upcoming break is a time for students and families to make great memories and reenergize for the remainder of the year!
Thank you for your ongoing support—together, we make our school community stronger!
In partnership,
Stephani Grisham
Timber Ridge ES Principal

What are we learning?
ECSE - 3 Year Old Class
ECSE – 3 yr. old class is currently studying Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle – Children’s natural curiosity about trash provides a starting point for exploring what happens to trash after it has been thrown away and the concepts of reducing, reusing, and recycling. After Spring Break, we will begin our study on Trees – This study builds on children’s interest in trees to help them develop an understanding of the characteristics of trees and gain an appreciation for their role in our natural and man-made worlds
1st Grade
March is blowing in fast! We are learning about living and nonliving things. We are living of course, but I didn’t know that we are animals! We need food, air, water, and shelter to live. All living things do! I am so glad spring is almost here! We want to discover all the living creatures; plants and animals that are in our environment. We will be learning about food chains, and a few animals in depth. We will learn all about what it eats, where it lives, how big it grows, and how long it lives. We are excited to learn more about our favorite animals.
Shapes are everywhere! We are learning about all kinds of shapes and how to put shapes together to make other shapes. We are counting and comparing the sides and the points (vertices) of each shape. Did you know that you can build a hexagon using triangles? We can use shapes to build all kinds of really neat pictures.
Thank you all for coming to hear us sing on Feb. 27. We loved entertaining our parents and teachers. We hope you enjoyed it too!
2nd Grade
- We are excited to start exploring about measurement in Math. For Reading we will be analyzing Persuasive texts and identifying facts and opinions. In Science we will be exploring and learning about living things and everything that comes with it, and for Social Studies we will continue talking about Economics. Some exciting things happening in March includes a field trip, please expect more details about this soon. Thank you for your support as we continue providing students with what they need to achieve their goals.
Skills Unit
The Skills Unit is working on building and strengthening the important skills they’ve developed throughout the year. From communication and social interactions to following routines and practicing problem-solving, students are applying what they’ve learned in a variety of hands-on activities. We are focusing on helping students grow their independence and confidence as they prepare for future learning experiences.
