A note from Mrs. Miller:

I want to welcome you all to the 2024-2025 school year. I am humbled and honored with this opportunity to continue to lead as Principal here at Poteet Elementary. During my 20 years at Poteet ISD I have been a Teacher, Counselor, Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal and Principal, all of which has shaped my love for this school and community. My children have been part of Poteet ISD since they were in pre-kindergarten. My son has already graduated from Poteet, while my daughter is now in her junior year at Poteet High School.

I firmly believe that one of the keys to our success is the partnership between our students' family as well as our community members. Students benefit as parents and guardians are involved in their education. It is important to nurture consistent communication between home and school and for families to learn about what is happening at school and provide feedback to help us improve. As the principal, it is my mission to motivate, inspire and propel students, staff, parent-partners, and community-partners into continued success. Quiero darles la bienvenida a todos al año escolar 2024-2025. Me siento honrada y humilde por esta oportunidad de seguir liderando como directora aquí en Poteet Elementary. Durante mis 20 años en Poteet ISD, he sido maestra, consejera, entrenadora instructiva, subdirectora y directora, todo lo cual ha dado forma a mi amor por esta escuela y comunidad. Mis hijos han sido parte de Poteet ISD desde que estaban en preescolar. Mi hijo ya se graduó de Poteet, mientras que mi hija ahora está en su tercer año en Poteet High School.

Creo firmemente que una de las claves de nuestro éxito es la asociación entre la familia de nuestros estudiantes y los miembros de nuestra comunidad. Los estudiantes se benefician cuando los padres y tutores participan en su educación. Es importante fomentar una comunicación constante entre el hogar y la escuela para que las familias se enteren de lo que está sucediendo en la escuela y brinden comentarios para ayudarnos a mejorar. Como directora, mi misión es motivar, inspirar e impulsar a los estudiantes, el personal, los padres asociados y los socios de la comunidad hacia el éxito continuo. The staff at Poteet Elementary are excited to see our students each day that is filled with opportunities to learn and engage!

Getting into the habit of daily attendance is more important than ever. It helps to:

● reduce stress

● make it easier to connect with friends and teachers

● support learning

● Please call us if you need help with attendance.

We are working to make our school environment a place where everyone can be safe, healthy and learning. We will do our best to listen and partner with you so that our children have a successful year. Do not hesitate to reach out to us with questions or concerns.
