Yotes Baseball Scores Big Upset in Playoffs

Yotes Baseball turned a red hot finish to the regular season into a berth in the State Championship Playoffs. The first round of League Championships was held this weekend and saw #30 Monarch take on #3 Castle View High School at the home of the Sabercats.

The Yotes came ready to play behind ace Charlie Pearce (pictured above.) Pearce threw a complete game shutout, striking out eight over seven innings. Pearce allowed only four base runners on the day, three hits and a walk.

Christian Mittleman and Finn Gardner led the offense. Mittleman, played the part of lead off hitter and table setter to a tee, going 3/4 on the day with a triple and two runs scored. Gardner took care of the ducks on the pond, going 2/4 for three RBI. Nate Rutledge and Row Tucker also chipped in with 2 RBI each.

The Yotes would go on to drop the next game to Horizon 4-2. The Yotes end up one game under .500 on the season at 12-13.

Great season, Yotes!

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

The Booster Club is run by a FUN group of volunteers who are passionate about helping to create an amazing high school experience for our students! We love and need volunteers to pull it off.

  • Membership Coordinator: The Membership Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating between clubs, teams, groups, and community members that would like to join or benefit from the MOHI Booster Club.
  • Cave Coordinator: The Cave Coordinator helps to ensure that our wonderful swag shack stays updated with the latest and greatest MOHI apparel.
  • Sponsorship Coordinator: This position requires attention before the start of the school year, typically in July: emails, phone calls, and general community outreach to entice local businesses to become sponsors. Most of your time required is during July, August & September, and the physical maintenance of the banners throughout the school year.

If you are passionate about supporting our students and fostering community connections, we invite you to apply for these integral roles in enhancing MOHI’s school's programs and initiatives. We would like to have people fill these roles before May 1. Please contact monarchboosterclub@gmail.com to learn more!
