A note from Principal Ballard
Dear Families,
With the Veterans Day Breakfast and Picture Day make-ups now successfully behind us, we want to thank all of you who participated. The breakfast was a heartwarming success.
As we glide into the latter half of November, our students are diligently wrapping up their current units before the well-deserved holiday break. A gentle reminder that from November 24th through November 28th, Winchester Avenue Elementary will be closed for Thanksgiving Break.
Please encourage your student to use this time for rest, reflection, and maybe practicing their math skills by calculating exactly how many slices of pie are acceptable.
With appreciation,
Charity Ballard Principal Winchester Avenue Elementary School

Attendance Matters
Check the back of your child's folder, or pocket, when he/she is absent to update the Attendance Tracker. Please aim to send your child to school each day. If your child is not sick, please send them to school.
Regular school attendance matters, but if your student misses school, you can submit your student's absence online using the Parent Absence Note Form
WALKERS
We understand that older siblings may need to walk our kiddos home. Please be sure your child's teacher is aware of this arrangement. We have a new form to be completed by parents/guardians of students that are walked home by siblings that are under 18 years of age. Once the teacher is made aware, we will send home the form.
