Life at Miami Trace Elementary School is full of activities and celebrations that we all look forward to. Students and staff alike join in the excitement of a new season, holiday, and school-wide festivities. FUNdraiser!

Once again, the MTES community has stepped up in a BIG way during our PTO fundraiser. This year was our highest sales total EVER, with over $106,000 in sales!! The profit to us is $45,000, which will go toward field trips, classrooms resources, and student experiences. As a result of meeting our goals, every student at MTES will enjoy the Comedy Juggler Show on November 6th! In addition, the administrative team camped out at school following the PTO Trunk or Treat event on October 29th. It was a great time, and we all enjoyed the experience. Thank you for putting the "Fun" in Fundraiser!

From the Sea to the Gym

Students all enjoy the pleasure of having Mr. Gary Powell (pictured left) as one of their physical education teachers during their time at MTES. Mr. Powell joins Mr. McCoy (now affectionately known together as "McPowell") to create some incredible experiences for our students during PE. Students often get off of the school bus in the morning to the shouts of "I have you for gym today!" - directed at Mr. Powell and Mr. McCoy. It is no secret that PE is a fan favorite at MTES. What may be a secret to many is that Mr. Powell is a veteran of the United States Navy. He proudly served his country from 1982 to 1988. While we didn't get to see him as a soldier, we are so very thankful for his service to our great nation, as well as our students in the gymasium. This month we say THANK YOU, Mr. Powell, for your service!

Skeletons at School??

Recently, our PTO held a Skeleton Decorating Contest. In this contest, staff members competed on teams to create the BEST skeleton. Students voted on their favorite, and the winning skeleton was decorated by our 1st grade team!! As a reward, the entire grade level will be enjoying a pizza party, courtesy of the PTO! Great job to everyone for your creativity and participation!
