Congratulations Boys Varsity Tennis! We Are The Champions!
All Around the School . . .
High Notes from the Music Department! Rye Neck musicians brought great honor to our programs by giving OUTSTANDING performances at this year's NYSSMA competition. Each spring, students attend the NYSSMA Evaluation Festival where they are adjudicated. Students prepare solos for their instruments as well as a specific number of major scales (from memory) and sightreading. Congratulations to Emina Bukalo, Immanuel and Raphael Tan who earned top scores in violin. Also making us proud are Sarah Gubitz, Riley Long, Nina Heery, Sonali Browning, Rintaro Takahashi and Yuna Hong--all of whom earned top scores on piano. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to your art! Well done! (Not pictured: Immanuel and Raphael Tan , Riley Long).
Research and Development! Students in the Independent Learner and Science Research programs celebrated another year of hard work and achievement on Thursday evening at our annual Research Symposium. Student research fields were guided by their own interests and curiosity, and ranged from social and cultural investigations to medical science. Our keynote speaker, Ella Sperling, presented her work Functional Modeling of Clinical Variants of Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia to a group of fellow students and adults. Ella--and all these young researchers--are to be congratulated on cultivating the habits of mind that make them successful researchers and compelling critical thinkers! Special thanks to Ms. Rachiele, Ms. Costelloe and Ms. Carpiniello for their mentorship! More pics here.
