Family Update
Dublin Jerome High School
FEB. 27, 2026 | EMBRACE THE JOURNEY | QTR. 3 WEEK 9
Weekly Message
Good Afternoon!
We are in the most complex time of the year--weather is chaotic, school is hard , and the activity is busy. This can be an overwhelming time for everyone. As we roar into March next week I would encourage everyone to do a small simple things that could make a big difference for someone.
1. Quick Check-In: Say hi, ask how you are doing, etc. Even a smile goes a long way because it says "I see you."
2. Ask for help: We are blessed to have people and resources to support our school community. If you aren't sure where to start, a great first step is to ask.
3. PRESS PAUSE: Sometime we just need a minute to get us back on track and clear our minds. A simple, efficient and effective technique is a concept call "BOX BREATHING" or the 4-4-4-4 Technique. This technique is used by the Navy SEALs to manage stress and stay calm. This type of breathing can damp down the body's sympathetic nervous system, which directs our response to dangerous or stressful situations. It also engages the parasympathetic nervous system, which controls the body's ability to relax. I have shared a gif to help practice!
This are some great first steps to take care of ourselves and each other.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Mike
