Principal Message
Dear WCS Families,
We were happy to see a high level of attendance during our second day of conferences this week. Your ongoing collaboration is so important to your child’s success. We hope your conference was productive and that your child is feeling ready to finish the year strong.
We also want to share a reminder regarding attendance. Several attendance letters were sent out again this week. Families will receive an attendance letter beginning at 10 absences, even if those absences are excused, as a way to keep communication open. If you receive a letter and have already reached out for prior approval for trips, there is no need to follow up again. We appreciate all you do to ensure your children are at school and on time, as this helps them avoid missing important core instruction.
This week, we distributed the WCS Spirit Wear that had been previously ordered. The response has been overwhelmingly positive from both staff and families! Due to popular demand, the store has been reopened and will remain open until April 8th. Be sure to place your orders soon as there are many options available in different styles, colors, and logos, so be sure to explore all the choices.
We also have an exciting event coming up this Sunday. The Harlem Wizards game at Windham High School! Several of our staff members will be taking the court as part of the Windham All Star Team. If you have never attended before, it’s a fun-filled event for the entire family and a great way to support the Windham High School Boosters.
Looking ahead, next week we will be celebrating World Autism Day. On April 2nd, students and staff are encouraged to wear bright colors as we celebrate differences and promote inclusion within our school community.
We have scheduled the WCS school dance for May 15th. It will take place from 6-8PM. The theme of the dance will be Hawaiian. We are working through some of the additional details and will have that information to all of you soon. It will be important as details come out, that you read through all of the pieces carefully to ensure a successful evening for all.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Martin

Seeking Feedback on How We Communicate With You
The Windham School District is committed to continuing to provide clear, timely, and meaningful communication with our families and community. As part of our District Improvement Plan (DIP), we’re reviewing the methods we use to share information and how well they meet your needs.
By completing this short communication survey, you’re helping us better understand:
how you prefer to receive information
which types of updates and content are most helpful to you
potential areas for growth
The feedback we receive will directly inform the ways the Windham School District continues with future communication across the district.
Please submit your response by Friday, April 24, at 5:00 PM.
