September 8, 2026
Dear Huskie Community,
Mark your calendars: The District has finalized Sunday, May 23, 2027, as the graduation date for Naperville Central and Naperville North High Schools. Here is a link to 2026-2027 NNHS Calendar with available important dates.
There seems to be some confusion on underclass students being called out for lunch. Here are a few notes that should provide clarity. We discourage parents calling out students for single periods during lunch or throughout the day except for medical appointments. If called out, a parent must pick up the student at the Main Entrance and sign them out. If a student is called out by a parent for lunch, that student may only be released to their parent or guardian. Students cannot be called out to go to lunch with juniors or seniors. 9th and 10th grade students may not be called out and released to other student’s guardians for lunch and must remain on campus. Called out students may not leave through the NPAC exit or any other exit except the Main Entrance/Exit after signing out.
Go Huskies!!
Sincerely,
Jay Wachtel

STUDENT CHROMEBOOK TIP
Pencils work as styluses on the new student chromebooks! These specific Lenovo education screens use special capacitive sensors that detect non-graphite, standard No. 2, or colored pencils. The displays are built with reinforced Dragontrail or Gorilla Glass specifically engineered to withstand standard pencil lead without scratching. Students are to avoid using dull, broken, or sharp metal mechanical pencil tips, as standard rounded No. 2 pencils work best.
BILINGUAL PARENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE
The first Bilingual Parent Advisory Committee (BPAC) meeting of the year will be held on Monday, September 22, from 5:30–6:30 p.m. at Mill Street Elementary School in the LC. The meeting will include information about BPAC, the Seal of Biliteracy, and Career Path classes in high school. We will also have interpreters, childcare, and snacks available for families. More information can be found HERE
HEALTH OFFICE
Just a reminder that students are NEVER allowed to carry any prescription or over the counter medication at school. This information is available to you on page 37 of the student handbook. DEAN'S NOTES
Dear Parents and Guardians,
If your student will be out of school for an extended period (such as a family trip or vacation), please follow the steps below to ensure the absence is properly recorded and excused:
- Pre-Planned Absences Reminder
- Have your child pick up a Pre-Planned Absence Form – Forms are available in the Student Services #1 (see any assistant);
- Have Teachers Sign the Form – Your student should take the form to each teacher for a signature;
- Submit to the Dean’s Office (SS1) – Once all signatures are complete, your student should bring the form to their assigned Dean for review. The Dean will check attendance totals and determine if the absences can be approved as excused;
- Final Processing – If approved, the Dean’s office will update attendance records and file the completed form;
- Your student needs to follow up with their teachers for make-up assignments or changes to the class calendar once they return, within the first 3 days that they are back to school.
- Reporting Your Student’s Absence Reminder
