Aanin Oshki Ogimaag School Families and Community Partners,

As we journey toward the close of the school year, the days are still alive with exploration, discovery, and wonder.

We pause now and then, looking back to where we began — small steps taken, seeds planted — and marvel at how far we have traveled together. Growth has unfolded before our eyes: quiet, steady, beautiful.

As we reflect, we also dream forward. What strengths do we carry into tomorrow? What spaces call for tending and new growth?

One of the ways we gather wisdom for the path ahead is through our annual satisfaction surveys, a part of our charter school contract with Osprey Wilds.

We have just completed our student surveys, and family surveys will soon be arriving in your email inboxes.

Your voices are a vital part of our map for the future.

Here are a few glimpses into the spirit of our school, through the words of our students:

  • 89% of students responded "Yes, always" to:
➔ "I learn about Ojibwe language and culture in a way that helps me understand and respect it."

  • 78% of students responded "Yes, always" to:

  • Drawing

  • Recess (mentioned three times)

  • My friends

When asked, "If I could change one thing about Oshki Ogimaag, it would be...", responses included:

  • More pictures in books

  • Pizza for lunch every day

  • No rules

  • More Ojibwe!

  • More painting in Ojibwe!

  • Nothing! (mentioned three times)

  • More recess

In response to, "Any other comments or things you want to share about school?", students shared these heartfelt notes:

  • "I would like Mom to visit school more."

  • "I want every class to have cats and dogs and bears and coyotes, because I like bears."

  • "I like everything!" (mentioned twice)

  • "Math is awesome!"

  • "Fun! School is fun!"

  • "School is awesome!"

OOCS families, watch for your family survey arriving soon.
Your reflections are a gift to our school — shaping the road ahead with care, community, and hope.
