Duval Dispatch
Celebrating 70 Years of Regal/Duval!
Week of June 14
Dear Duval Families-
Last Friday, we celebrated another incredible Fun Day at Duval! It was a day filled with laughter, excitement, and memorable experiences for both students and staff. We are so grateful to our family volunteers, our amazing PTO, the Whitman Fire Department, and the WHHS National Honor Society students who generously shared their time to make the day such a success.
We would also like to extend a very special thank you to Jen Chester, our PTO President. Jen consistently goes above and beyond for the students, staff, and families of Duval, and Fun Day is just one example of her dedication. Her countless hours of planning, organization, and hard work helped make the day a tremendous success. We are incredibly thankful for the time, energy, and heart she pours into our school community. Thank you, Jen, for all that you do for Duval!
As a reminder, in celebration of Flag Day students can wear red, white, and blue to school tomorrow! Also, Thursday, June 18th is a half day of school, and there will be no school on Friday, June 19th in observance of Juneteenth.
While this time of year brings lots of excitement, it can also bring mixed emotions for children. Many students experience feelings of anxiety or sadness as they prepare to say goodbye to teachers, classmates, and familiar routines that have been part of their daily lives all year long. Families can help by talking openly about these feelings, celebrating the memories and growth from this school year, and helping children look forward to the opportunities and experiences that next year will bring. Maintaining consistent routines at home can also provide a sense of comfort and stability during this time of transition.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support throughout the school year. We look forward to making these final days memorable for our students!
Have a wonderful week everyone!
Ms. Craig and Mrs. Salamone

PTO NEWS!
Hello Duval families!
We had so much fun at Fun Day yesterday! Students had a blast moving from station to station and having fun with friends. Thank you to all our volunteers and everyone who brought ice, coolers, tents, etc. These events are only possible when the entire Duval community comes together. These are memories our students will never forget!
Reminder: you need an active CORI to volunteer for events. We encourage everyone to complete a CORI in case there is a last minute opportunity for you to volunteer. We cannot allow anyone without one to help at events. They last for 2 years and can be completed any time the office is open.
This year we decided to reach out to community businesses to sponsor our Fun Day shirts. We were absolutely amazed by the number of businesses willing to support Duval. Please see the attached flyer where we have showcased these businesses and keep them in mind as you choose local businesses to support. We are always so appreciative of our community!
