WCUUSD Curriculum Newsletter
August 31, 2026
Introduction
Hi, WCUUSD educators--
Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year!
Please take a few minutes to review the contents of this newsletter. It is shorter than usual, in part because some committees are not yet up and running, but I wanted to maintain my routine of sharing the newsletter with you by the end of the month. I'm getting it out in the nick of time this month!
As always, please reach out if you have any questions or concerns about the contents of this newsletter.
Warmly,
Jen

Education Quality Committee (EQC)
Updates and Next Meeting
On September 2 the Education Quality Committee, a committee of our school board, will review Spring 2026 academic data at the district level. Specifically, they will review i-Ready math results, i-Ready reading results, and Acadience K-6 Reading results. Here is the slideshow. You will see student results for the past three years. Additionally, you'll see district results compared to national results for the i-Ready assessments.
Humanity and Justice Work
August Update
The Humanity and Justice Coalition will be led by two adult co-chairs and two student co-chairs this year. We have not yet set up our meeting schedule or work plan for 2026-2027. Stay tuned next month for more details.
Local Comprehensive Assessment System (LCAS)
Local Comprehensive Assessment Plan (LCAP) for 2026-2027
Here is this year's LCAP. Please review it for the grade levels you serve at your earliest convenience.
The fall assessment window opens on September 8. Please plan accordingly.
Reminder: i-Ready Diagnostic Is Now i-Ready Inform
The i-Ready Diagnostic for reading and math is now i-Ready Inform. While still computer adaptive, i-Ready Inform is designed to be a shorter assessment than the i-Ready Diagnostic for most students. i-Ready Inform retains its validity and reliability.
If you administer i-Ready and are interested in learning more about the changes, you can log into your i-Ready account to access the templates below:
