Scandia Scoop #10

Good Afternoon Scandia Families,

What. A. Day!

Today at Scandia, we hosted our PTO Kindergarten Breakfast Together, had donuts for breakfast (if you know, you know!), enjoyed an amazing day filled with PTO Wild Walk activities, and ended the day with our all-school celebration—Ranger Shine Time!

You have likely heard me say that at Scandia, we work hard and celebrate BIG! Our students, staff, and families show up in big ways, and we love every minute of it. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your truly precious child’s educational journey. Even on long days like today, we are tired—but our faces also hurt from smiling, which always makes it worth it!

Thank you to everyone who helped out and made today a wonderful success for our students!

As you head into the weekend, if you are headed to any type of celebration or event with family and friends, please be safe. Remember, we do not have school on Monday! Revel in the joy that fall brings, make some memories, and enjoy some time together. We can’t wait to hear all about it when students return on Tuesday!

Take care and be safe,

Shannon Carufel

Principal

Honoring Our Scandia Heros

During the month of November, we will display our annual Wall of Honor to recognize Scandia friends and family members who have served in the military. We would love to include your service member!

To participate:

Send in a copy of a photo of your service member.
Or, email a digital photo to amaloney@flaschools.org.
Or, bring an original photo to school, and we will make a color copy for you.

Please include the following information with every photo:

Student’s name
Service member’s name
Military branch (optional)
Years of service (optional)

Please note: Because photos will be displayed on our Wall of Honor, original photos will not be returned. Please send a copy or have us make a copy of the original.

Thank you for helping us honor the brave members of our Scandia community who have served our country!

IB Learner Learner Profile Trait of The Month

This month, we are learning about being Balanced.

That means we understand how important it is to take care of all parts of our lives — our thinking, our bodies, and our feelings — so we can be healthy and happy. When we are balanced, we try to learn new things, stay active, and take care of our emotions. We also remember that we are all connected to other people and to the world around us, and we do our best to make good choices that help everyone.
