A MESSAGE FROM ANEL:
Hey Team,
What a SWEET way to wrap up the week! 💚💛
We enjoyed sweet treats, lots of confetti, and exactly 89 seconds of dancing and celebrating; because an 89 deserved 89 seconds of FUN! Thank you for the role each and every one of you has played in our success. Every classroom, every intervention, every staff member, and every effort matters. I am incredibly proud of this team and grateful for the heart you give our Roadrunners every day. You can find the information we shared here: https://txschools.gov/
Please be sure to carefully review all the information included in this newsletter.
As we continue to adjust to our enrollment numbers, Ms. Cary will officially transition from kinder to first grade beginning Monday. We are so grateful that we were able to keep her right here at Runyan! Thank you to everyone who has helped make this transition as smooth as possible. I truly appreciate your flexibility, teamwork, and willingness to step in wherever needed.
Our district will continue monitoring enrollment numbers closely this week. We know that some of our classrooms are currently at or very close to capacity, so additional staffing or classroom movements may be necessary as numbers continue to settle.
I know changes can be challenging, especially at the beginning of the year. Thank you for continuing to be flexible and keeping our students at the center of every decision. We will communicate updates as soon as we have them.
Anel

FREE BREAKFAST FOR STUDENTS
All students will receive free breakfast this year. Parents still are required to apply for free and reduced lunch.
LPAC TRAINING
In order to be in compliance with LPAC and best serve our EB population, all homeroom teachers should be LPAC certified. This allows the teacher to sign ARD documents and ensure our students are receiving appropriate services. Click the link to access the LPAC training modules. Then select LPAC Framework Training on TEALearn. You may also follow the step by step instructions on how to enroll in the LPAC course. It should not take more than 45-60 minutes. Please email your certificates to Addy Yates at ayates@conroeisd.net once finished.
Due Date: September 11, 2026
SAFETY
We will have our first Fire Drill of the year this week on Tuesday, August 25th at 2:15 PM. Please take time to review procedures with your students in advance, as this is an important learning opportunity.
During this drill, you will hear an automated message throughout the hallways indicating that a fire has been reported and that there is a need to exit the building.
Once the fire drill alarm has sounded (flashing lights and automated message):
Line students up
Collect your red safety bag
Begin exiting the classroom and building, following your assigned evacuation route
Turn off classroom lights and close the door securely behind you (this means removing the magnet and ensuring the door is closed and locked)
Once outside in your assigned zone, take attendance
Scan the emergency QR code
If you are a homeroom teacher, report any missing students
If you are not a homeroom teacher, report any additional students who are with you
You will be notified that the drill has ended and given permission to re-enter the building via the PA system and radios.
Please note: This will be the only announced fire drill for the fall semester.
