GRE Kindness Project
For several years, our PTO has been the supportive and collaborative partners behind the GRE Kindness Project, an initiative dedicated to spreading kindness throughout our community.
This year’s project focused on bringing smiles to local seniors. Our students poured their hearts into creating beautiful Valentine’s Day cards and bookmarks, which were delivered to residents at three area nursing homes. We are so proud of the thoughtful messages they wrote to brighten someone’s day!
A huge thank you to the Kindness Project PTO chairs and liaison for leading this effort, and to the many families and students who spent their Friday delivering these special gifts.
Absence Procedures
Upload Absence Documentation via Campus Parent Portal
Dublin City Schools families now have a new, convenient option for submitting absence documentation through the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Receive a medical note after reporting your child’s absence? Instead of sending a paper copy or a separate email, simply log in and upload it directly to the existing request.
After logging in, select More and then Absence Request. Click View Requests, locate the prior absence in the list, and open it. From there, select Upload Document and choose your file.
Using this feature saves paper, eliminates an extra trip to the office and reduces additional emails to attendance secretaries. It is a small step that helps streamline processes across Dublin City Schools. We appreciate families taking advantage of this new option to support efficient, timely communication.
Winter MAP student data
The MAP assessments give us the ability to measure student achievement and academic growth across time. Students participate in the MAP Reading and MAP Math assessments during designated benchmark windows throughout the year (Reading: Grades 2-8, Math: Grades 1-8). The MAP 2-5 and MAP 6+ assessments allow us to identify students as gifted in the areas of math and/or reading.
MAP scores in the 95th-99th percentile meet the Ohio Department of Education requirements for gifted identification. Students scoring in the range for a gifted identification on the MAP assessment will be supported in their regular classroom setting through high-quality, differentiated instruction.
MAP results are now visible to parents in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Additional information about MAP, including how to find your child's score in Infinite Campus, can be found here.
Spring Class and Individual Pictures
Picture reminder notices will be coming home today or Monday.
Class pictures will be taken on Thursday, February 26.
You can order online only at shop.hrimaging.com.
Individual student pictures will be taken on Friday, 2/27.
Look for a small card to come home in their backpack on picture day, containing a preview code specific to your child. Once proofs are available, you will be able to preview and order online using that code.
If you have questions about the process you can contact HRImaging directly through their website or by calling 1-815-433-1869.
