DO YOU HAVE A CHILD READY TO START KINDERGARTEN IN 26/27 SCHOOL YEAR?
Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2026.
All children who will turn five before Aug. 1, 2026, are eligible to attend kindergarten for the 2026-27 school year. Our building's date is Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2026. Get more kindergarten enrollment information. Find out what parents need to do by clicking the button below.
PRESCHOOL ENROLLMENT
Pre-K Enrollment for the 2026-27 school year will begin in February
2026-27 PreK Enrollment Opens:
Feb. 9-13: Currently enrolled and returning Pre-K families and WSD employees.
Feb. 23: All Wentzville School District residents.
To enroll in our tuition-based preschool program, students must be 3 years old by July 31st of the year they are starting preschool.
In past years, families could choose their Early Childhood location. This year, your child’s Early Childhood site will be determined by your home address. Your address falls within an elementary school attendance boundary, and that boundary determines which Early Childhood location your child will attend. If you are unsure which elementary school serves your address, you can find it using the District’s interactive boundary map.
Early Childhood Locations by Elementary School Boundary:
Barfield: Boone Trail, Crossroads, Discovery Ridge, Duello, Green Tree, Prairie View
Samuelson: Heritage, Journey, Lake View, Peine Ridge, Stone Creek, Wabash
For more information or to register, please visit the District enrollment webpage.
Valentine’s Day Party Information:
- Parties will start at 2:30 and run through 3:30
- Lead Room Parents will be able to enter the parties to set up at 2:15.
- All other visitors will be able to enter the parties at 2:30
- All treats must be prepackaged / store bought
Parent Information:
Younger siblings are not permitted into the parties.
You may sign your child out after the parties in your child’s classroom. The teacher will have a sign out form.
All visitors and volunteers must have their ID available for staff to check. Several stations will be set up to check ID’s. If you do not have a valid ID, you may not attend the parties.
Parents may attend the party as a visitor or volunteer--- a volunteer would be interacting with more than their child (running a game/craft station, etc.). A visitor would attend the party but not be supervising/interacting with children other than their own. Student Handbook
Thank you for attending the parties! The kids love it when you come to their school and classroom, and the staff enjoys seeing all of our visitors and volunteers. We look forward to seeing you soon!
NEW SCHOOL SCHEDULE FOR 2026-2027
WSD Adjusts Schedule Starting in the 2026-27 School Year to Support Student Achievement
WSD leaders are taking a step toward the District’s top strategic priority — improving academic achievement — by adjusting school schedules for the next school year. At the district level, monthly Late Start Mondays will be replaced with monthly All-District Early Release Wednesdays. At the middle and high (secondary) school level, in addition to the monthly All-District Early Release Wednesdays, the District will introduce weekly Secondary Early Release Wednesdays on full school weeks.
With these schedule changes approved by the Board of Education at the January Board meeting, the 2026-27 Academic Calendar is expected to be presented at the February Board meeting.
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Help Us Maintain the Hawk Store!
Dear Families,
Are you looking for a quick and easy way to support our school? Box Tops for Education has been around for over 25 years, and it really can make a difference. In fact, the Box Tops program has helped give almost one billion dollars to schools since 1996.
The Box Tops app gives participants the ability to earn for any school across the country with just the touch of a button. Plus, the Box Tops app allows you to search for schools that could use a little extra help, so you can help give students in low-income schools the opportunity to succeed.
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS: Buy participating products and use the Box Tops app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and earnings are credited to your designated school online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt with the Box Tops app and earn. Twice a year, our school gets a check! See a list of participating products at BTFE.COM/PRODUCTS
Box Tops earnings really add up, and the more people that participate, the bigger the impact we
can make. So let’s give our teachers the support they need and give more kids the opportunity to
succeed. Together, we can help make a big difference.
BE A LUNCHROOM HERO
Our School Lunch Hero program aims to ensure no child leaves the cafeteria hungry. Donate to our Lunch Hero program to help WSD families struggling to keep up with paying for school breakfast and lunch. Read more about School Lunch Heroes and make a donation.
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND AMI DAYS
As we approach the colder months, we want to re-share the District communication that has information regarding the WSD's inclement weather procedures for the 2025-26 school year. This year, snow days one and two will be traditional snow days. After our second snow day this year, we will switch to AMI (alternative methods of instruction) for snow days three through seven. Read more on what to expect this winter or view AMI assignments.
PVE 2ND ANNUAL: CAREER DAY
Prairie View is hosting the 2nd annual Career Fair on March 5, 1:30-3:45. We are looking for people in our community to come and speak to our students about their job. We are looking for all types of jobs such as police officers, CNAs, carpenters, mechanics, doctors, truck drivers, retail workers, hospitality workers, heavy equipment operators, attorneys, etc. If you are interested in talking to classes about your job, please scan the QR code on the flyer. For more information, please reach out to our school counselors: daniellehaley@wsdr4.org and nicolejohnston@wsdr4.org
WENTZVILLE WOW FACTOR AWARD
We are feeling extra thankful for amazing staff this month! Has your child's teacher made a significant impact? Do you want to recognize a staff member who goes above and beyond? Celebrate a teacher or employee with a Wentzville Wow Factor Award anytime throughout the school year to let them know they are making a difference! Nominate a Staff Member.
