A message from EHS
Interim Principal Mr. Dunn

Greeting Eastridge Lancer Families,
My name is Dave Dunn, and I will be the interim principal at Eastridge High School. As you may have read from Mary Grow’s email a few weeks ago, I am a retired principal from Fairport and spent 45 years in Fairport as a teacher and building principal. Though I enjoyed a great career in Fairport, I am not ready to fully retire. I love being busy!
My first day on the job was this past Wednesday and I will be busy this summer getting to know as many staff, students, and parents as possible. I take my role as interim principal seriously and will work hard to make sure our school is physically and emotionally safe for our students and staff. Making sure your child feels safe at Eastridge will be my number one priority! Communication and collaboration are two of many traits you will notice about me and my work as your child’s principal. I will work closely with our PTSA to make sure there are many opportunities for you to come to school and see and hear about some of the wonderful things that will happen this 2023-24 school year. I promise to be visible as much as possible during the day to our students and staff and be accessible to all parents as much as possible.
I will be posting dates in August for you to come into school, walk your child’s schedule, meet the staff that work during the summer as well as meet the counselors and administrators that will be working diligently to make sure our school opens successfully by the first day of school. Another priority for me as we continue to move from covid conditions will be to bring stability, consistency and some fun back into school and school life. My goal will be to make sure you and your child have the best school year possible! If for any reason you are not satisfied with what your child is experiencing, I want to be the first person that you contact. I will quickly identify the key staff and/or students necessary to solve the problem. You will find I am a good listener and always in a problem-solving frame of mind. I believe that it does take a village to raise a child and will embrace our partnership in the best interest of your child.
Feel free to give me a call if you want to come in and talk about anything pertaining to your child. I will always prefer face to face meetings or phone calls and will rarely use email as a means to solve a problem, unless the problem is a simple one. Don’t hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting as many students and parents as possible during my time at Eastridge.
Have a great summer!
Dave Dunn
