A note from Mr. Lee
Rising Together into a New School Year
As we open the doors to a new school year, I want to take a moment to reflect on what makes Carter Middle School such a special place. Each year brings fresh opportunities, challenges, and experiences that shape our students into stronger learners and leaders. At Carter, we believe that every step forward is built on the foundation of our schoolwide expectations: RISE — Respectful, Individually Accountable, Safe, and Engaged.
RISE is more than just an acronym. It is the culture we strive to build each day:
Respectful interactions create an environment where everyone feels valued.
Individual Accountability teaches our students that their choices matter, and responsibility builds character.
Safe spaces—both physically and emotionally—help students take risks in learning and feel supported.
Engaged learners become the curious thinkers and problem-solvers the world needs.
This year, our staff and students will continue to weave RISE into every classroom, hallway, practice field, and performance stage. When students RISE, they not only grow academically, but also develop the resilience, empathy, and confidence that will serve them for years to come.
Parents and families, your partnership is the fuel that keeps this momentum going. As we head into this school year, I encourage you to join us in celebrating the small victories, supporting one another through challenges, and always striving for growth. Together, we will make this another year filled with moments of pride, learning, and joy.
Let’s RISE to the occasion—together!

Carter Cougar Days
On Wednesday, August 20th & Thursday, August 21st we welcomed our 6th, 7th & 8th Graders back to the halls for our Carter Cougar Days! They were able to try out their lockers, tour the building, see friends and pick up their schedules.
School Lunches
School lunches start on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. As of now school lunches are free for all students as long as the Education Benefit form is filled out, if you have not filled out the form please fill it out here. Students must wear their student ID's to go through the lunch line. If their ID is lost you can purchase a new one through counseling for $5. Lanyards are $2 if you loose yours.
There is no outside food allowed to be brought in for lunch (ex: McDonald's, Taco Bell, etc, or doordash) we can not accept Doordash orders for students. You may bring a brown bag lunch from home if your student(s) is not getting a hot lunch. Breakfast & Lunch menus are available by clicking here.
7th & 8th Grade Sports
Football practices will begin on Tuesday, September 2nd after school. Sports physicals must be on file before starting practice. They can be turned in to the front office prior to Tuesday, September 2nd.
Volleyball Tryouts will begin on Wednesday, September 3rd, 4th & 5th after school. Must be present all three days to qualify for a team. Again, sports physicals must be completed and filed prior to the start of tryouts.
Before & After School Pick up
There is no parking or dropping off of students in the AM or PM in the circle drive in front of Carter. This is for bussing only. You must drop off your students in the back of the school, drop off students should be entering Door 19. The left (outside) lane is a through lane, please do not stop to pick up your student in this lane. You may stop in the right lane to pick up your student. Please see the Drop-off and pick- up procedures that was handed out during Carter Cougar Days.
Bus Transportation
Busses do leave fairly quickly (within 5-6 minutes after dismissal) from Carter Middle School, students who ride the bus should go straight to their locker and immediately out the front to the their bus. We have students who are socializing with friends and missing their bus. If they miss a bus, they will be allowed to call home for a ride, transportation will not come back to Carter to pick them up. Please be patient with all the construction busses do have to go around some areas and it is delaying transportation. If a bus is not coming an all call will go out to those parents.
