Happy Sunday MRE Parents,

I'm hoping you all have been enjoying your Fall Break! I want to thank you for your support in having our scholars attend our M & M Learning Camp during this October Intersession. We had an average of 200+ scholars join us every day. We also had a very good participation number for our Basketball Camp with Coach Delgado. I would also like to thank you for your support with our Popcorn Fundraiser. We have submitted orders and should be receiving them this week.

We are now getting ready to start MP2. In my opinion, the fastest grading period of the whole year. We have holidays, such as Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, that make it feel it's going by fast. On our end, we would like to keep the spirit of all these holidays but also need to focus on our instruction. This grading period is key as we would have set the tone for the remainder of the school year. We can't do this without your help. I would like to thank you for sending your child, when they are healty to do so, to school. We have met our Attendance Goal for MP1 but still fall behind other campus with the same number of students as us. We can do this OWLS!!

We will be releasing Report Cards next week via Skyward. We will be hosting our Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, Oct. 24th, from 4:30PM - 6:30PM. If you have any quesitons. please reach out to your child's teacher.

Car Pick Up Signs/Cards are required for the Pick Up Lane. Please ask your teacher if you don't have one. For cards, have them available so we can expedite your pick up. For signs, please place your sign on the passenger side so we may see it at a distance to ensure your child is ready for you when you pull up to the assigned pick up.

VERY IMPORTANT: If your child is scheduled to ride the bus, please read the following:

• Verify you child has a bus ID
• If no bus ID, you must stop by the campus to obtain one ($5 replacement fee if you have misplaced it or has damage)
• If using transportation services, please stop by the campus to sign consent to allow your child to be dismissed by boarding the bus.

The Socorro Independent School District is introducing Ride 360, an app that allows a streamlined flow of communication for parents when their child rides the bus.

The app uses GPS data and allows parents to see their students’ bus route information as they travel throughout the district. Parents can access their child’s secure data for bus stop location, route and pick up time, including when and where their child boards and exits the bus.

The app also allows push notifications from the transportation department to inform parents of pickup and drop-off schedules, delays, accidents, changes in bus assignments and other important information.

Parents can download the Traversa Ride 360 app on the App store or get it on Google Play.

The Socorro Independent School District is implementing Skyward Family Access for parents and students for the 2023-2024 school year. Skyward Family Access will replace the Tyler360 portal.

Skyward Family Access is an easy-to-use website that allows parents and guardians to access information about their students, such as attendance, grades, assignments, schedules, progress reports and report cards. Skyward Family Access is available on any device with an internet connection.

Skyward Family Access is now available to students and parents. Click here to learn more about how to use Skyward. Information also will be shared with parents via email.

SISD appreciates parents’ patience and understanding during the transition to Skyward Family Access.

We know our students will become ill throughout the year. For this reason, it is important that when our students are healthy, they are attending school every day. Lost instructional days do not only impact your child's education but also the education and dynamics of all students in the classroom. For this reason, MAKING EVERYDAY Count is critical for the success of your child and all students on campus.

The state of Texas holds administrators and parents accountable for attending school daily. At 5 absences or tardies, you will be asked to have a meeting with administration to make sure we are working together to educate your child. Please help support our teachers by bringing in your children ready to learn. We thank you for making attendance a priority.

Early pick-ups

• Early pick-ups are not processed 30 min before dismissal.
• PK/Kinder: No later than 2:15
• 1st-5th : No later than 2:45

Systems are working and this week we will begin to work on arriving on time. Students' tardiness will go into effect soon. Note the following

• Doors will open at 7:00 am
• First Bell will ring at 7:30 am
• Tardy Bell will ring at 7:45
• Breakfast in the classroom will be served from 7:30-7:45 am
• Instruction will start promptly at 7:30 AM

This first week, there was no traffic on Nonap by 745 AM. Please plan accordingly so your child can be in school on time. Thank you for your assistance!

Starting ths week, scholars who are in close ALL week, Monday throught Friday, earn a FREE DRESS PASS that they could use the following Monday
