Dear Parents and Carers,
On Wednesday, I was delighted to join the Reception class on their trip to Askham Bryan. We were fortunate to have beautiful weather, and the children thoroughly enjoyed learning about the wide variety of animals. The trip coordinator even told Mrs Westfeld that this was one of the best classes he had ever worked with, praising their excellent manners and attentive listening skills. Well done, Robins—we are incredibly proud of you!
Also on Wednesday, we welcomed a visit from the Mad Science team, who delivered an exciting and engaging assembly. They have sent home leaflets with information about a potential after-school club. As we continue to support families following the closure of Kid’s Planet wraparound care, we are exploring opportunities with local clubs and businesses. We are offering free use of the school hall in exchange for running after-school provision. Please do share this opportunity with anyone who may be interested; all necessary safeguarding checks will, of course, be carried out before any arrangements are confirmed.
Thank you for supporting Phase One of the Year 6 legacy project by sending your child to school in spring non-uniform today. Red Kites are approaching this project with great enthusiasm and have more exciting events planned—I won’t spoil the surprise by revealing them just yet!
Despite last week’s reminder, we had still lost 79 minutes to lateness by Thursday this week. From Tuesday, the playground gates will close promptly at 8:45am. Any arrivals after this time will need to enter via the school office. We hope this will be a short-term measure to help get things back on track
Wishing you all a very happy and restful weekend.

Head Pupils
We have had a very exciting week once again! On Wednesday, we had a scientist from Mad Science come in to show some science experiments in worship. Some children even had the chance to help the scientist with them too. Today, it was brilliant to see so many children dressed in colours representing Spring for the non-uniform day, which was arranged by the Year 6 children to help raise money for our legacy projects.
Head pupil awards this week go to Poppy (Y6) and Jasmine (Y4).
Have a fantastic weekend.
Tilly and Lenny
Headteacher Award
This week's award goes to Jacob (Y3) - congratulations.

The sale will take place, straight after school, on the playground, near the Year 4 classroom. There will be lots of baked goods available, ranging from 50p to £1, that will be made by all the Year 6’s on the day. Any donations to sell on the day will also be gratefully appreciated. What a fantastic afternoon we had at our donut sale last Friday!
Thanks to everyone who came along and supported us in the sunshine. We’re so pleased to share that we raised an amazing £253!
We’d also like to apologise for the delays some of you experienced while paying. Our SumUp machines weren’t behaving as they should, which caused a bit of a hold up. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.
