Happy Fall Panthers!

Dear Families,

We hope that you have been enjoying the cooler fall weather this month! Our hallways have been full of our students’ voices, colorful artwork, and a love of learning in the air. One of the things that makes our school so special is how caring and helpful our students are toward one another. We can’t begin to count the number of times we see our students helping one another as they walk down the hallway. These small acts of kindness make our school community such a wonderful place to be!

We also enjoyed celebrating Attendance Spirit Week in September, and our students really showed up ready to celebrate each day with enthusiasm! We have set a school-wide attendance goal with all of our students of achieving 10 days of perfect attendance.

Currently, we have had 6 perfect attendance days, so we are getting closer and closer to reaching our goal!

Once we earn 10 days of perfect attendance as a school, we will celebrate with a dance party! 🎉 We are so excited to see our Panthers working together to reach this goal.

Being present at school every day gives your children the opportunity to learn, grow, build friendships, and make the most of each day. Every day matters, and every day counts!

We are so proud of our Panthers and all that they are accomplishing each day.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to make this a wonderful school year!

With Panther Pride,

Ms. Logan and Ms. Wolfe

Attendance Do's and Don'ts

Attendance Do’s:

  • Do send written excuses or legal documentation for any absences within 3 days of the student's return to school.
  • Do prioritize scheduling appointments (e.g., doctor, dentist) and vacations/breaks outside of school hours when possible.
  • Do communicate early with the school if your child is experiencing challenges that may impact attendance (e.g., transportation issues, health concerns).
  • Do monitor attendance through the school's portal or by contacting teachers regularly.
  • Do encourage punctuality—students arriving late often miss important instructional time.
  • Do ensure students attend all classes on eLearning or remote learning days, especially in hybrid or online formats.

Attendance Don’ts:

  • Don’t assume absences will be automatically excused—documentation must be provided for any excused absence.
  • Don’t allow unexcused absences to accumulate. Excessive absences can result in academic consequences and potential truancy issues.
  • Don’t ignore notifications from the school regarding tardiness or absenteeism—address concerns early.
  • Don’t send excuses via text or email unless they obtain an original/written signature.

2026-2027 School Calendar 2026-2027 School Calendar

Hello Parents and Guardians,

I know it has been a long month and a half as we have worked to get back into a school routine after a long summer break. We appreciate all of your efforts in helping our students adjust to their schedules and start the school year strong.

One of our goals this year is to reduce chronic absenteeism and truancy. I know that family breaks may seem far away, but we are almost there! We kindly ask families to plan vacations, trips, and other extended time away during the school’s scheduled breaks whenever possible.

Regular attendance is key to student success. Every school day provides valuable opportunities for students to learn, grow, and stay connected to their classmates and teachers.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support in helping our students have a successful and productive school year. Together, we can make a difference!

Warmly,

Jane Edwards Elementary School

Message from the Counselor

Dear Families,

Happy October! 🎃 This month in counseling, we are focusing on Bullying Prevention and Inclusion.

We will be learning what it means to be kind, include others, and stand up for what is right. Students will talk about how our words and actions can help others feel happy, safe, and welcome.

This month, encourage your child to:

  • 💛 Use kind words and actions.
  • 🤝 Invite others to join in.
  • 🌟 Celebrate what makes each person special.
  • 🗣️ Tell a trusted adult if someone is being hurt or left out.
  • 🦸 Be an “upstander” by helping others instead of standing by.

Warmly,

Ms. Coleman

Connection Point

Take a few minutes this month to talk with your child about kindness and inclusion. Ask:
“What can you do if you notice someone being left out?”

You can also encourage your family to complete a Kindness Challenge together—look for one small way each day to make someone feel included, valued, or cared for.

Together, we can create a school community where everyone feels safe, welcome, and that they belong! 🍁

Mrs. Morano's 4th Grade Class

There are so many amazing things happening in Mrs. Morano’s classroom! Our fourth grade students are challenged every day, and they continue to rise to the occasion. They are actively engaged in their learning and consistently give their best effort; whether they are writing an essay, completing a project, or preparing for an assessment.

This classroom is a true example of unity, teamwork, and purpose. Students encourage one another, take ownership of their learning, and understand that everyone has an important role to play in the success of the classroom community.

Keep growing, keep learning, and keep showing us what you can do, Fourth Grade!

🐾Continue to grow with purpose! 🐾
