Dear CES SHARKS & Friends,


On behalf of the Staff at CES, I would like to thank everyone who reached out and shared their condolences on the passing of our preschool teacher, Mrs. Hubbard and her daughter Margaret (Maggie) Hubbard. I will continue to update the community as we learn more information about memorial services for the Hubbard Family.


Our preschool students returned to class this past Friday led by our incredible teaching team of Ms. Sue Linnell, Mrs. Olsen, and Ms. Brooke. The students were able to return to the routine of school surrounded by love. Counselors remain on hand for students, staff, and families. If you are interested in grief support services, please reach out to Student Services Director Melissa Maguire at mmaguire@monomoy.edu.

Reporting Absences

Please call the Main Office at 508-945-5135 or use Pick Up Patrol to report student absences. Our classroom teachers are often unable to check their email prior to the start of school and the Main Office and Nurse's Office don't learn of the email before they begin calling home. Contacting the Main Office or using Pick Up Patrol are the best ways to inform the school of an absence.

"Hi"s and Eyes Challenge

At CES, we believe that strong communication skills aid our students in being successful in many different ways. This month, we are holding the "Hi"s and Eyes Challenge. We have asked our SHARKS to pay attention to how they greet one another and adults. We agreed that it is polite to greet someone by maintaining eye contact and using a clear voice. This month we are practicing this skill in all areas of the school and making sure to praise students when they are greeting others with their words and eye contact.

Inktober is Ink-credible at CES!

Ms. Kidd's Inktober challenge is going strong. Each day our Shark artists submit their ink drawings for the daily prompt. We invite you to join us in the daily challenge and please send in your own submissions via backpack mail if you would like to share your talent with our entire community. Everybody is an ARTIST at CES!
