Our Apex Fundraiser is well underway, and our Tigers are very excited to have the Apex Leadership Team back on our campus. They're learning great lessons from the Apex team and participating in fun, learning activities.

We are working to raise funds for Student Enrichment and Field Trips, and we need your support!

You should continue to receive information from our PTO and our classroom teachers about how you can join the fun and get involved. Thank you for helping to make a difference for our Tigers!

We recommend that Tigers stay in school all day Friday, October 24. We realize that sometimes parents enjoy signing students out early on event days, but leaving early this Friday means your Tiger(s) will miss some of the fun!

At the end of the day, our Principal's Challenge will be revealed and will take place, AND our Tigers will continue to be awarded prizes through the end of the school day.

Last year, Ms. Russ was slimed. I wonder what will happen this year?! Don't miss any of the fun! Be present!

Trunk or Treat - October 25 - 4:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Rear parking lot of Lake Travis High School (use the Spillman Loop Entrance)
Join us for candy, costumes, and creatively decorated trunks hosted by LTHS students!

Haunted Halloween Trail - October 25 - 6:30 PM -9:30 PM
Dare to enter our student-led Haunted Trail—an eerie adventure filled with spooky surprises and Halloween thrills! Haunted Trail Cost $5.00 donation to the PTO.

Costumes encouraged. Fun guaranteed. We can’t wait to see you there!

This month, we are launching an exciting initiative to boost student attendance. And, with this in mind, we have several incentives in place for classrooms and grade levels.

Each week, we will feature a "Golden Goose" for every grade level. The class with the best attendance in each grade will receive the "Golden Goose" for the week. Additionally, attendance updates will be shared in our newsletters.

At the end of the semester, the grade level with the highest overall attendance will enjoy an ultimate recess! Also, students with perfect attendance every 9 weeks will receive a certificate from the office.

We appreciate your partnership in promoting excellent attendance. Let’s make this a great month and a great year!

Tigers demonstrating PAWSitive behavior are nominated to have their names added to our WOW Board. WOW Board members are then eligible to win a fun brag tag and Buddy Pass. The Buddy Pass entitles each WOW Board member to enjoy lunch on the stage with a buddy of his/her choice.

October is always full of energy with our “Shocktober” events, and this year we’re adding something fun and new: Workout Wednesdays!

Workout Wednesdays will be on:

October 1 ----- October 8 ----- October 15 ----- October 22 ----- October 29

Let’s make Wednesdays a time to re-energize and celebrate our school spirit together. Thank you for always making our campus a place filled with positivity, teamwork, and Tiger Pride.

And, we are celebrating 2 Unity Days this year! Wednesday, October 15, and Wednesday, October 22, are Unity Days!!!! In honor of Unity Days, let's make it ORANGE workout gear on both days!

In response to Senate Bill 13, our Board of Trustees has established the Lake Travis ISD School Library Advisory Council (SLAC.) The purpose of the SLAC is to formalize a collaborative process between librarians, parents, and community members in the ongoing development of strong library collections that support student achievement and meet state standards. This process helps ensure transparency, parent involvement, and a strong library program that strengthens student achievement while nurturing a lifelong appreciation, habit, and love of reading.

The SLAC works with librarians and district staff to develop a recommended list of library materials for procurement, including donated titles. At least 30 days before the Board’s vote, the proposed procurement list will be made publicly available for parents and community members to review and provide feedback. The Board will review these recommendations, consider any proposed changes, and make the final decision to approve or reject the materials. The SLAC will also recommend procedures for handling challenges to library materials and review challenges according to law before making recommendations to the Board.

As a show of our appreciation, they are being celebrated with a dance party in our school Library on Thursday, October 30, at 1:45 pm. Fun and yummy frozen treats will be served, and a grand time will be had by all.
