From the Principal From the Principal

As we move further into the school year, I want to remind families of the importance of working together to support each student’s growth and success. Report cards provide an opportunity to celebrate progress, recognize areas of strength, and identify skills that may need additional attention. If you have questions about your child’s report card, grades, or progress toward grade-level expectations, please reach out to your child’s teacher. Our teachers are valuable partners in your child’s education and welcome the opportunity to answer questions, share insights, and discuss ways we can work together to help your child succeed. Open communication between home and school makes a difference, and we appreciate your continued partnership!

As the fall season continues, please remember that weather conditions can fluctuate significantly from day to day. Mornings may be chilly, while afternoons can warm up, and temperatures can change quickly. Please help your child prepare by dressing in layers and bringing a jacket or sweatshirt when needed. We want all our Wildcats to be comfortable and ready to learn throughout the school day, including during outdoor activities and recess. Checking the forecast each morning can help ensure your child is prepared for the day ahead.

Finally, we have two exciting school events coming up this month! Wildcat Feud is October 22, and we look forward to a fun opportunity to bring our school community together. Then, on October 29, we will celebrate Book or Treat! We are excited to share these special experiences with our students and families. Please keep these dates on your calendar and watch for any additional information from the school.

Thank you for your continued support, communication, and partnership. Together, we can make it another great month at West Elementary. Let’s keep stacking wins for our Wildcats!

Title I Information Title I Information

West Elementary School in Zion, IL is a Title I school, which means we receive federal funding to help ensure all students have access to a high-quality education. This support allows us to provide extra help in reading and math for students who may need it. Title I funding also helps us offer additional classroom resources, technology, and instructional materials. Our teachers use these tools to create engaging lessons that meet each child’s learning needs. Families may also see more school programs and activities designed to support learning at home. Being a Title I school helps us work together to give every student the opportunity to succeed.
