A few reminders about re-registering:
- If your student is a graduating senior, your response should be NOT REGISTERING.
If your student is a senior, but may be shy of graduating, please consider selecting REGISTERING, even if they may finish over summer.
Not quite certain of next year's plans? Consider selecting REGISTERING to hold your seat. Otherwise, UNDECIDED is also an okay response; however, you will be contacted yet this school year about your decision AND students with a status of UNDECIDED will be removed by August 1.
Tech Tips
- Test Your Setup Before Class
Check camera, microphone, and internet before joining.
Use headphones to reduce echo and background noise.
Run Engageliโs audio/video test if available.
- Use Polls and Reactions
Quick polls help measure understanding.
Reactions keep sessions interactive without stopping the lecture.
- Use the Raise Hand Feature
This keeps discussions organized; Students raise hands to speak and teachers can call on students easily
Study Tips
- Rotate locations (library, kitchen table, outside). This uses "context variability", helping your brain store info more flexibly. Youโll recall better in different test settings.
- Play the same instrumental music every time you study a subject. Your brain links the material to the sound. Before a test, mentally replay the music to trigger recall.
- Instead of 2 hours of one subject, Do 30 min math, 30 min history, 30 min science
- Take a break long enough to almost forget something, then review it. This strengthens memory more than constant repetition.
- Pretend you're teaching someone who knows nothing. Use simple language out loud - If you get stuck, thatโs exactly what you need to review.
Motivational Words
- Success doesnโt come from what you do occasionally, but from what you do consistently.
- Sometimes the hardest part of anything is just starting.
- You don't have to cram everything all at once, you just need to break things down little by little
- Sometimes the big picture is overwhelming, looking at the little things in life.
- You don't have to have everything figured out right now - just must keep going
- Continue that journey even if there is bumps in the road!
