Course Selection is currently taking place! Students are meeting with their counselors at this time.
Students should have their 4-year plans completed in Naviance, including elective selections and alternate classes. Please refer to the video in the previous paragraph. Selections can be changed from year to year. This 4-year plan is fluid and a working document. Do not worry about it being perfect.
If you have a current Sophomore or Junior, we want to give you time to review important dual credit information for anyone wishing to take a dual credit class for the 2026-2027 school year. The dual credit submission form is now open and will close on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026. The next step is reviewing the steps to becoming a dual credit student, as outlined on the TWHS Dual Credit Website.
Step 1: Are you a new or returning dual credit student? If you are new, please proceed to step 2. If you are not new, you will proceed to step 3.
Step 2: If you are a new dual credit student, complete the Apply Texas application & set up your LoneStar College account and forward your emails. If you are not new to dual credit, you can proceed to step 3.
Step 3: Do you have qualifying test scores either through SAT, ACT, or the TSIA2 tests? If you do, you do NOT need to re-qualify. If you don't and have not signed up for the February ACT, you will need to be sure to sign up for the TSIA2 test. More information on that to come. Testing usually occurs in March. However, before you are able to test in March, you MUST create an Accuplacer account and complete the pre-assessment activity. Instructions for completing the pre-assessment can be found here.
You may be asked to show your certificate of completion, so be sure to download it and save it to your google drive. For students taking the February ACT test or March SAT test, scores are usually loaded into your College Board or ACT account within 3 weeks. Students taking the TISA2 test, you will receive your scores as soon as you complete your test.
Step 4: Submitting the dual credit google form (including uploading your dual credit paperwork and qualifying test scores). This step cannot be completed UNTIL the student obtains the qualifying test scores. The form opens January 6, 2026, and closes April 2, 2026.
The last and final step will not occur until July/August. I will send out another email with payment instructions once students have been enrolled in their dual credit courses for the fall by Lone Star College. This typically happens at the end of July. The deadline to have steps 1-4 completed is April 2, 2026.
Here are some important dates:
- April 2nd: Dual Credit paperwork deadline-all test scores should be received, and completed paperwork turned in by this date
- April 13th: Paper verifications sent home with completed course requests
- April 17th: Verifications due and course change requests due
Important: TSIA2 Testing Dates & Registration for Dual Credit
If you are planning to take Dual Credit courses during the 2026-2027 school year, you must have qualifying scores from the SAT, ACT, or TSIA2.
Step 1: Apply to Lone Star College and Get Your Lone Star ID To register for the TSIA2, you must have a 7-digit Lone Star ID number (typically starting with an "8").
How to apply: Follow the steps at TWHS Dual Credit to apply and receive your LoneStar ID.
Wait time: It usually takes 3–5 days to receive your ID, so please plan ahead.
Step 2: Create an Accuplacer Account. Once you have an account, you will need to complete the pre-assessment activity. Instructions to complete the pre-assessment activity can be found here.
Step 3: Choose Your Testing Date Testing is held at TWHS. Seats are filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
Tuesday, March 24 (7:15 AM): Full Test (Students will miss class to test)
Tuesday, March 24 (2:45 PM): Reading and Essay only AND
Thursday, March 26 (2:45 PM): Math only
Saturday, March 28 (8:00 AM): Full Test
Step 4: Register Once you have your Lone Star ID, sign up for your preferred date through this link: TSIA2 REGISTRATION You must sign up and select a day to express your interest in testing through TWHS.
Registration Deadline: Friday, March 6, 2026
The alternative to testing at TWHS is to make an appointment at Lone Star College at (936) 273-7377. You will need to request a testing ticket through your counselor AFTER you have secured your Lone Star ID. Hours of operation for testing at Lone Star College are:
Monday-Tuesday: 8AM-7PM
Wednesday-Thursday: 8AM-6PM
Friday: 8AM-5PM
Saturday: 9AM-2PM
Sunday: CLOSED
*If you previously tested and did not make a qualifying score or you do not have a qualifying score on the tests in March, retesting at Lone Star College is your only option. Please note that all Dual Credit scores and paperwork for the 26-27 school year must be submitted by April 2, 2026.

The schedule change deadline has passed. Although we are no longer changing schedules, it is advised to request a meeting with your child's teacher to discuss your concerns. Please make note that we provide tutoring and after school homework help. If a student failed the first semester, depending on the average, the student can recuperate the entire credit in the second semester by averaging the two semesters to a 70 or above. However, if a student fails the second semester, they cannot average it with the first semester to pass both.
We know there are many options for tutors in our community. However, we strongly encourage your student to build a relationship with their teacher and seek their guidance when they need assistance or clarification. Our teachers are readily available before or after school for tutoring. In many cases, students also utilize peer tutoring through many of our service organizations. In addition, evening tutorials are available at the Senior Campus. Our staff is always here to help answer questions and address concerns. We also provide a list of tutors, some current or former teachers, on our website. You can also find it here:

WORLD LANGUAGES
TWHS offers a multitude of languages, including Japanese, German, French, and Chinese. As students decide which language to choose, there are a few things to keep in mind. Which language will make them stand out to future employers? Please see our monthly newsletter for more information about who we are and what our languages offer.
CLINIC NOTES
This is a reminder that all medications that are given at school must be signed in to the clinic by a parent or guardian, even if the student is 18 or older. We do not have any stock medications; they all must be provided from home each school year. That includes cough drops, headache medication, antacids, and antibiotic ointment. There is a form in the clinic that you complete to give us permission to administer that medication, then we count and sign off on the medication in front of you. This is a district-wide policy and is done to maintain the safety of our students and staff.
District guidelines for checking in medications
● Over-the-counter medication dosage must not exceed the dose recommendation listed on the bottle. Exception: If your physician, dentist, or orthodontist has directed a certain dosage to be given that is greater than that recommended on the bottle, a written order will need to be included with the written permission from the parent.
● Medications must be in their original container, and unexpired.
● The use of “sample” medication from the physician, dentist, or orthodontist must have signed written instructions from that doctor accompanied by the parent’s written permission.
● No more than a ninety (90) day supply of a prescription medication may be checked in at one time.
● No more than a thirty (30) day supply of a nonprescription medication, to be used “as needed”, may be checked in at one time. We do not have room to store Costco-sized bottles.
● All prescription and nonprescription medications must be labeled in English.
● All prescription medications must be prescribed by an authorized licensed healthcare provider in Texas. Medications prescribed by authorized licensed healthcare providers in other US states may be accepted for no longer than 45 calendar days.
If your student has an Epi-pen, inhaler, or diabetic supplies prescribed to them, there are forms that need to be signed by a doctor and parent each school year that give them permission to carry and self-administer those medications. Those forms can be found here:https://sites.google.com/conroeisd.net/twhsclinicinformation/home
If you are aware that your student will be going on a field trip and will need to have scheduled medication administered by a staff member or carry emergency medications while they are on the trip, please contact the clinic for guidance. You can reach Alana Ansley at the Senior Campus at 936-709-1076 or aransley@conroeisd.net, and Johna Van Roekel (clinic aide) at the 9th Grade Campus at 832-592-8208 or jvanroekel@conroeisd.net. Both nurses are available in the clinic from 7:00-3:00 on school days.

Family Support Through The Welcome Center
We would like to inform you that the Welcome Center, led by Iytzia Cárdenas, has now been relocated to the Jett Center. However, she continues to visit our campus some days a week, mainly when she has scheduled appointments with families.
🧭 Her Mission: Guiding Families Through a New educational System
If you come across a family who may benefit from a one-on-one meeting with Iytzia to better understand and navigate the school system, please don’t hesitate to refer to them.
Iytzia is committed to:
Providing clear guidance and support
Helping families gradually access the information they need
Ensuring they do not feel overwhelmed or lost
🌍 More Than Just a Language Barrier
We often assume the challenge is only about learning a new language—but in reality, it’s much deeper.
Families arriving from other countries experience:
Culture shock.
Grief and loss from leaving their home country, family , friends , etc.
A complete shift in norms and expectations.
All of this can create confusion and uncertainty as they try to adjust. That’s where cultural and emotional support becomes essential.
👩🏫 Iytzia’s Ongoing Impact
With over 12 years of experience on this campus, Iytzia has played a key role in building strong connections with our families. Due to the growing importance of her work, her role has now been centralized, and she now serves all district schools through the Jett Center.
She identifies newly arrived families and reaches out directly—or sometimes is referred by families like you.
📌 How You Can Help
If you notice a student or family who seems to be struggling with adjustment, please:
Reach out to Iytzia ( 281-220-9527) icardenas@conroeisd.net
Share any relevant information.
Encourage families to connect with her.
Even a small gesture can make a huge difference in helping families feel seen, understood, and supported.
Thank you for being a vital part of this support network. Together, we can continue creating a welcoming and inclusive community environment for everyone.
