SHADOWS ARE FALLING
BOOK 3
WINTER 2025
Late in the evening on November 18th, 1982, in the quiet town of Fishbone, Montana, a ten-year-ola boy is slaughtered in his bedroom. Just down the hall, his older sister moves through the house, unaware of the horror unfolding only feet away.
The nature of his death defies explanation-neither entirely human nor animal.
Hundreds of miles away in New England, Dr. Robert Qiu, a brilliant but haunted medical examiner, wears the dead like a second skin. Witness, to a brutal double homicide years earlier, the memory shadows him still.
After the boy's gruesome murder plunges Fishbone into panic, Sheriff Peter Stubbe severs ties with the local coroner and calls in Dr. Qiu, believing only he can uncover the truth.
As Robert arrives in the frozen, neon-lit streets of this remote town, he finds himself drawn into something far darker than he imagined. At the heart of Fishbone, a malevolent force is stirring. Some ghosts, he learns, refuse to stay buried.
What waits in the shadows-man, beast, or something far worse?
Will Dr. Qiu solve the mystery before another victim is taken? Or will he become just another casualty in this chilling tale of terror?
Chapter Snippet
Benji shot upright, blinking into black. The air felt thick, like held breath. The silence buzzed. Not a dream. Not awake, either. For a second, he thought he’d gone blind. Then the dark shifted. His heart jolted into a sprint. Something felt… wrong. The door was shut, just as he left it. The stereo dead. The blinds drawn. Had he done that?
Molly… Had to be. Her lame payback for the boots. Another shift in the dark.
“Molly, you better get out of here or I’m telling Mom and Dad! You can kiss your precious Walkman goodbye!”
The Dominant One
Audiobook Sample
Gabriel Connolly struggles with what’s right. Then, when he’s faced with pure evil, and realizes he has no choice, he tries to drown his soul-less friend in a river. But evil doesn't die.
And that’s just the start of Gabriel's new nightmare. You can’t cheat death, that’s the catch. Even worse, Gabriel realizes he may have passed on supernatural gifts to a heartless killer.
As fiendish plans and unspeakable atrocities are set in motion, Gabriel learns that he alone may hold the key to a series of terrifying events: a secret cabin in the woods, a hidden tomb housing a trail of dismembered corpses, the young killer who lingers in a coma intent on cheating death. And at last, a depraved madman hellbent on saving his only son’s life. Can Gabriel take back the gifts given and triumph over the wicked? And most importantly, will death lay claim in the end?

Chapter Snippet
The young man awoke in total darkness. He lay exposed, struggling to lift his head from the cold, damp cement.
I’m dreaming…
He was dreaming—if only for a moment. A black corridor stretched endlessly ahead, calling him deeper into the abyss. He blinked, and the world crawled into focus. A small generator hummed, its vibration seeping into the walls and his bones. He instructed his limbs to move, but an invisible weight held them in place. Awareness crept in —a tendril, sharp and invasive blossoming from his mind’s eye.
Please, God, don’t let anything be broken.

THE HERESY FORK
The Heresy Fork was a medieval torture device used during the Inquisition to punish those accused of heresy.
This simple yet brutal instrument consisted of a metal fork with two prongs at each end, attached to a leather strap or collar.
One prong was pressed under the chin, while the other pierced the victim's chest, forcing the victim to hold their head upright.
If the victim moved or fell asleep, the prongs would be driven into their flesh. Rather than causing immediate death, the instrument was designed to cause long-term discomfort and instill a sense of fear and control in the accused.
When Dr. Louis Creed takes a new job and moves his family to the idyllic rural town of Ludlow, Maine, this new beginning seems too good to be true. Despite Ludlow's tranquility, an undercurrent of danger exists here. Those trucks on the road outside the Creed's beautiful old home travel by just a little too quickly, for one thing...as is evidenced by the makeshift graveyard in the nearby woods where generations of children have buried their beloved pets. Then there are the warnings to Louis both real and from the depths of his nightmares that he should not venture beyond the borders of this little graveyard where another burial ground lures with seductive promises and ungodly temptations. A blood-chilling truth is hidden there-one more terrifying than death itself, and hideously more powerful. As Louis is about to discover for himself sometimes, dead is better...
For a hundred years, the people of Prairie Bend have whispered Nathaniel's name in wonder and fear. Some say he is a folktale, created to frighten children on cold winter nights. Some swear he is a terrifying spirit retumed to avenge the past. But soon... very soon... some will learn that Nathaniel lives still--that he is darkly, horrifyingly real. Nathaniel--he is the voice that calls to young Michael Hall across the prairie night... the voice that draws the boy into the shadowy depths of the old, crumbling, forbidden barn ... that chanting, compelling voice he will follow faithfully beyond the edge of terror.
