Delta Project Presentations
Our Delta Project Coordinator, Denny Wickham, has been meeting with Freshman students in each of our local districts providing essential information about the Delta Project and why students should participate in the program. Denny will continue to present to students throughout the fall before the application process begins in January.
STW Presentations in Work Based Learning (WBL)
Our STW team has been busy presenting to numerous classrooms across Saginaw County. Last week three of our MRS counselors spent time with the AM and PM students in Work Based Learning providing students with information about School to Work services.
Students in each session were able to gain essential information about services they can access such as job readiness skills, job shadows, post secondary services, job clubs and job placement opportunities for competitive employment in the community.
Covenant Project Interns
The Transitions Center Covenant Interns have been hard at work after starting their first of three rotations at Covenant Hospital at the end of August. The three students participated in a seven week work experience and were required to interview for one of the year long paid positions. Each student will rotate between Supply Chain, Linens and the Covenant Kitchen throughout the school year. This long-standing partnership of over 20 years has supported training of essential vocational skills, leading to students being hired in numerous departments and positions at Covenant Hospital after completing their internship.
