Principal's Message
Dear Ride Families,
Another wonderful week at Ride!
Oh my goodness… our second graders completely stole the show with their performance of If I Built a House! They brought so much excitement and incredible musical talent to the stage, and when the audience gave them a standing ovation, it was the sweetest moment. We could not be more proud of them. A special thank you to Mrs. Dimas for inspiring such a love for music in our students.
Go Texan Day was such a fun way to wrap up the week. The boots, the smiles, the school spirit, it was all so good. And a huge thank you to our amazing PTO for the delicious lunch for our teachers. You truly know how to make us feel appreciated and cared for.
A huge thank you to our ECSE students and teachers for brightening our day with the sweetest treat cart, big smiles, hugs, and plenty of high fives! You filled our halls with so much joy and reminded us what makes Ride so special.
We have just one more week until spring break, and it is going to be a full one. There is still so much important learning happening, so please help us by making sure your child is here each and every day. These days matter, and we do not want anyone missing out.
And do not worry, it is not all work. We have so many fun things planned. Our PreK friends will show off their musical talents for parents during enrichment. Our Kinder friends will enjoy Crazy Sock Day and a Fairy Tale Ball. Our second and third graders are heading to CPHS to see Marcy Watson. We will wrap it all up with a fun PreK Spring Break Bash. It is going to be a week full of learning, laughter, and sweet memories.
Thank you for your constant support, your encouragement, and all the ways you partner with us. We truly could not do this without you, and we are so grateful for our Ride families. Let us make this next week amazing together.
With much gratitude,
Laura Collins & Angela Fonville
Go Texan Day Staff Lunch
A Texas-sized THANK YOU to Cory Cummings, Chelsey Sesack, and many others who donated supplies to make our staff BBQ lunch a big success! Smoked brisket and trout with all the fixins brought smiles to our entire staff. We have the best parents on our PTO and they spoil us all year long.
Pre-K Share the Music Event

Join Our H-E-B School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge!
We’re excited to announce that our school is participating in the H-E-B School Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge from March 2 – April 3, 2026 — and we need your help to make it a huge success!
This is a fun and meaningful way for our students to learn about caring for the environment while making a real impact in our community.
How Families Can Help
-
Send in clean plastic bags with your child throughout the challenge dates.
-
Check backpacks for the informational flyer with details and reminders.
-
Encourage your child to track how many bags your family recycles each week!
Why It Matters
Students often ask what happens after the bags are collected. H-E-B recycles the plastic into new, useful products — keeping waste out of landfills and helping protect Texas’ environment. We’ll be sharing more about the recycling process with students so they can see the difference they’re making.
The Best Part?
Every participating school receives a gift card — and the more bags we collect, the higher the reward!
This is a wonderful opportunity to teach environmental responsibility, teamwork, and school pride. Let’s work together to make this our best recycling challenge yet!
Thank you for supporting our students and helping us lead the way in protecting our environment.
Exciting News for 3rd & 4th Grade Families! 🎉
We’re happy to share that IXL is now available for all 3rd and 4th grade students!
Students can access IXL through their Single Sign-On (SSO). After logging in, they should click on the MAP icon located on the right side of the screen. This will take them directly to their personalized skills plan, which is tailored to their individual RIT score to support targeted growth.
Students will be using IXL during the technology station as part of their regular math block. In addition, the computer lab will be open from 7:30–7:50 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays for 3rd & 4th grade students who would like extra IXL practice time. Please note that space is limited during these sessions.
We’re excited to see students continue building their math skills through this personalized learning tool!

RideFest Information
RideFest is almost here, and we need our amazing Sally K. Ride families to help make it a success! If you or someone you know would like to contribute, no amount is too small — every donation makes a difference! Checks and donated items can be made out to the PTO. Attendance
Current Attendance Rate 96.4 %
Our 24–25 attendance rate was 95.48%, and we’re aiming even higher for 25–26 with a goal of 98%!
At Ride, we want all Challengers to Achieve. A huge part of student success is directly connected to strong attendance. Every day matters, and we want to make the most of every moment we have with our students.
Please help us by scheduling appointments after school whenever possible and ensuring students arrive on time and ready to learn each day. Together, we can help our Challengers reach their full potential!

Transportation Changes
All transportation changes must be received by 2:00 p.m. Please send all changes of transportation to ridetransportation@conroeisd.net. The e-mail must include the date, your child’s full name, homeroom teacher, bus number (if applicable), and the guardian's full name. All emails must be received before 2:00 p.m. If you submit a transportation change by email, it must go to the email address referenced above; transportation changes should not be emailed directly to the teacher. If an emergency arises, please contact 281-465-2800.
Please send a new email for each day the change occurs. We cannot accept notes for multiple days or with multiple changes. District policy states that a student may only ride the bus they are registered to ride; therefore, students may not have a transportation change to ride a different bus.

SCIENCE CAMP AT CP HIGH SCHOOL - 3/20
The CP Science National Honor Society will be hosting a Science Camp for elementary students on March 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Snacks and drinks will be provided, and you can register your student by scanning the QR code below or clicking this link: https://forms.gle/2oFCCk9mcv99y9Xq8.
SCHOOL HOURS/ATTENDANCE/TARDY POLICY
School hours are 7:55 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. Students must be in their classroom before the 7:55 a.m. bell rings, or they will be considered tardy. Please note that 7:30 a.m. is the earliest time that your child may be dropped off. We do not have staff available to supervise students until that time.
Attendance is vitally important to your child’s current educational growth and future development. Research confirms that attendance is one of the greatest factors contributing to student achievement. Please note that if your child comes in after 9:00 a.m., it will count as an absence unless your child has a medical appointment and brings in a school excuse from the doctor.
Tardy Policy
A student is tardy if not in the classroom at 7:55 a.m. If your child is tardy, parents must sign him/her in at the front office. When a student is tardy, an e-mail will be sent to the student’s guardian for notification.
BIRTHDAY TREAT GUIDELINES
We love celebrating birthdays at school and welcome birthday treats! To ensure the safety and well-being of all students, we ask that families follow the guidelines outlined in the graphic. These guidelines help us manage allergies, classroom time, and school policies. Thank you for helping us make birthday celebrations safe and enjoyable for everyone!
LUNCH VISITOR INFORMATION
** Please consider limiting lunch visits to once or twice per month for each student, so that all parents have an opportunity to visit for lunch.
**Please limit the number of visitors to no more than two.
**Students may enjoy lunch with their parents/family only; please do not invite other students to eat lunch with your family.
**Please keep students and other children at the tables with you; do not allow them to run or play during lunch time.
NEW FOR 2025:
**We want to ensure the safety and security of everyone as they enjoy time together while visiting at lunch. If a grandparent or other family member wants to visit your child during lunch, the parent must send in written permission to the front office. The note will only need to be sent in once per school year, and at that time a notation will be made in the visitor system so that the school will have a record of the permission being granted. If a note is not sent, we will call a parent to grant permission before the visitor is allowed to join a student for lunch. Notes can be sent to: cvanloh@conroeisd.net
