Happy April, Pierce Families!
We are excited to welcome the arrival of spring and are looking forward to the warmer weather and all the energy it brings to our school community.
This past Thursday, April 2nd, we had the opportunity to celebrate our incredible Paraprofessionals. We are so grateful for all that they do each and every day to support our students and staff. Their dedication, care, and commitment truly make a difference, and we thank them for all they continue to do.
Last Saturday March 28th , we proudly hosted our very first Science Fair and what a success it was! With over 38 student projects on display and a packed house, it was an inspiring event filled with curiosity, creativity, and learning. A very special thank you to Pierce parents Marissa Vogt and Tal Kenet for organizing such a fantastic experience for our students and families. Also Great job to all of our Jr Scientist and Judges!!
We have also begun MCAS testing. Thank you to all parents and guardians for ensuring that students are at school on time and ready to do their best each day. Your support makes a meaningful difference.
This week, we are especially excited for some of our favorite traditions , Pierce Fenway Night, and our Annual Variety Shows. Additionally on Friday, we have our Coffee and Connections at 8am at OLS and we are hosting a Middle School Dance for Pierce Middle School Students only at OLS 7PM! These events are wonderful opportunities for students to showcase their talents, connect with peers, and build lasting memories.
Thank you, as always, for your continued partnership and support.
Warm regards,
Candice Whitmore

Dear Pierce Families,
The Pierce Variety Show is back! This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to showcase students' many talents and for us to celebrate their hard work and bravery.
Ticket are for sale on our PTO website, with a cap of 250 tickets per night. Tickets are $7.50, and will likely sell out, so I recommend you use the QR code on the attached flyer and purchase soon! A few things to know:
- 100% of ticket sales will go to the PTO, which will immediately benefit Pierce students and staff.
- A limited amount will be available at the door.
- All students, regardless of age, must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the show. (One parent may of course bring and chaperone a group of students!)
- The performance will be at OLS. Families should use door 2 (the usual morning door) for building access. We will unlock that door at 5:30 pm. The shows begin at 6:00 pm.
- There will be concessions for sale in the cafeteria during intermission.
MCAS Dates
This month we prepare to transition into testing session for our students in grades 3-8th at the end of the month.Statewide assessments help parents, students, educators, and policymakers determine where districts, schools, and students are meeting expectations and where they need additional support. To increase our understanding of school performance, Student Assessment Services develops and administers the MCAS (Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System) and, for students with significant learning challenges, the MCAS Alternate Assessment.
