🐉💙 Happy First Day of School, Dealey Dragons! 💙🐉
Dear Dealey Families,
Happy First Day of School! 🎉📚
It is truly wonderful to welcome our students and families back to George B. Dealey Montessori & International Academy for another incredible year of learning, growing, and discovering together.
Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is:
🌎 Explore Deeply. Thrive Globally. 🌎
Today marks the beginning of a new journey for our Dragons—one filled with new friendships, new experiences, meaningful learning, and countless opportunities to discover just how much they can accomplish.
As we begin our first day, please keep these important reminders in mind:
⏰ Morning Arrival
The Dealey building opens at 7:45 AM. Please do not drop students off before 7:45 AM, as staff supervision is not available prior to the building opening.
Arrival Entrances:
🏫 Elementary Students: All elementary students must enter through the cafeteria entrance.
🎒 Middle School Students: All middle school students must enter through the middle school entrance and proceed through the metal detectors.
⏰ Late Arrivals: Any student arriving after 8:35 AM must enter through the main entrance on Royal Lane and check in through the front office.
We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation during the first few days of school as our students and families become familiar with our arrival procedures and routines. Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and smooth start to each school day!
🏫 First Two Weeks: Building Access
To give our students and staff the opportunity to acclimate to one another, establish classroom routines, and settle into the new school year, parents and visitors will not be permitted beyond the Main Office during the first two weeks of school.
Parents needing to drop off items, paperwork, medication, or other materials may enter the Main Office, and our staff will be happy to assist you.
We know that the beginning of school—especially for our youngest and newest Dragons—can be an adjustment for both students and families. This brief transition period allows our teachers to begin building independence, relationships, classroom community, and consistent routines with their students from the very first day.
Thank you for partnering with us and allowing our Dragons the opportunity to confidently begin their new year! 💙🐉
🚗 Afternoon Dismissal
Please make arrangements for your child to be picked up promptly each afternoon.
All students must be picked up by 4:15 PM daily unless they are enrolled in the Champions after-school program.
Thank you for helping us ensure a safe and efficient dismissal process for our students and staff.
☕💙 PTA Boohoo Woohoo
Parents and caregivers, after you send your Dragon off for their first day, don’t rush away just yet!
Our wonderful Dealey PTA is hosting its annual Boohoo Woohoo event this morning. Whether you’re feeling a little 😭 BOOHOO about saying goodbye or ready to 🎉 WOOHOO your way into the new school year, we hope you’ll stop by, connect with other Dealey families, and celebrate the start of another great year.
Please see the PTA Boohoo Woohoo flyer below for event details.
🐉 Here’s to an Amazing Year!
To our returning Dragons—welcome home!
To our new Dragons and families—welcome to the Dealey family! We are so happy you’re here.
Thank you to our parents, PTA, teachers, staff, and entire community for everything you do to make Dealey such a special place for children. I am excited about all that we will accomplish together this year.
Let’s make the first day—and the entire 2026–2027 school year—one to remember!
