Finally the Snow is Here!
Happy 2024!
The students have been having so much fun today playing on the sledding hill, making snow forts, and all the other wonderful things that children do when there's a blanket of fresh white snow!
It's been joyful to have all the students back at school and they've returned full of stories about what they did over vacation. I hope that the new year brings joy and good health along with more snow.

Curriculum
Every grade level is using the new math curriculum program called Eureka. We will be analyzing our fall to winter NWEA Assessment data in late January to see how our students' skills are growing in math. We are also in the process of choosing a 'Science of Reading' aligned program for next year.
Reminders
Jan. 15th - Martin Luther King Day - No School
Be very careful at the crosswalks out front and drive slowly.
When we have a lot of adults attending K-2nd Grade Sing, the talking can get a bit loud so we'd appreciate your help keeping voices low so we can enjoy the singing.
Please call the office if you need any help changing your PikMyKid dismissal plan.

DENTAL CLINIC
The Upper Valley Smiles Program is coming to HSS on February 5 and 12th. This is a free dental clinic health program for elementary school kids hosted by APD. This program is geared towards children who have not had dental visit in the past 6 months and who do not have a dentist visit scheduled in the next 3 months.
Forms will go home with all students in the next few weeks.
ILLNESS REMINDERS
Aside from COVID, there are many other viruses circulating in our community. In order to help your child return to good health and out of courtesy to others in our school, please keep your child home if he/she has a fever, vomits, has diarrhea or really just does not feel well.
In regards to COVID, the Lebanon School District is following CDC guidelines. Please review the information below:
It is recommended that a person test with any cold symptoms. Please contact me if you need COVID tests.
Should a person test positive, the day of the test OR the onset of symptoms is considered DAY 0.
If the test is positive, then one needs to isolate for Days 1 - 5.
One can return to school on Day 6 and needs to wear a mask for Days 6 - 10.
Please contact the nurse if your child tests positive.
If a family member tests positive, it is also recommended that household members wear a mask for 10 days.
Should you have any questions, please contact me.
In good health,
