📒A Note from the Principal 📒A Note from the Principal

Dear Hall Elementary Family,

It is hard to believe that it is time for our Back to School Edition of our newsletter: Hall Happenings. I truly hope this summer has been one filled with fun, rest, and time with family and friends. While some may not be quite ready for all of the "Back to School" activities, there really is nothing quite like preparing for a new school year! We are looking forward to year five at Hall and can't wait to reconnect with our students and families in our outstanding school community.

We are looking forward to having opportunities to provide our Hall community with an exceptional educational experience. We are committed to ensuring that all students learn at high levels and are committed to live out our motto of Hall Means All every day.

We are so excited about the 2026-2027 school year, and have been working hard to prepare for a productive learning adventure with our students. Our theme for the year is "Hall Together Now".

We are partners in your child's education. The best way to find out any information about our campus is to contact your child’s teacher. If they don’t know the answer, they can put you in touch with someone who does. If you still have concerns after speaking with your child’s teacher, please contact me at skromero@prosper-isd.net or 945-678-3400.

If you have any questions about your child’s specific needs, please don’t hesitate to contact me. We encourage you to build a personal relationship with us. We are available to you so that we can make sure that your child is taken care of while on our campus, and we want to build strong relationships with you.

Below is all the information you will need as you prepare for the first day of school. We are here if you have any questions, and we can't wait to greet you all as you walk through our doors in August.

Our goal here at Hall is to keep you as informed as possible. If we ever fall short of that, please don't hesitate to reach out.

I can't wait to see you all soon!

Arrival & Dismissal

Arrival:

  • Crossing guards are present and carlines begin at 7:25 a.m. If you need to drop your child off between 7:15-7:25, please walk your child to the back cafeteria door by the fenced playground area so a staff member can receive your student.
  • The front and back doors will be opened by a staff member beginning at 7:25 and will shut promptly at 7:50 am. We will be outside each morning to assist students if needed, but we encourage you to please work with your child on being able to get in and out of the car on their own.
  • Any student may be dropped off in either the front or back car line in the morning. The front car line will have two lines coming into the driveway from the road. Then the two lines will merge into one using the zipper method (each line taking turns letting one car in at a time) to form one drop off line.
  • The parking lot is not for student drop off. It will be blocked off by our campus officer each morning in order to ensure the quick and safe drop off of all children. If you need to park and come inside the school, you will be directed by campus staff on how to enter the parking lot.
  • Students are not allowed to exit their vehicle in the driveway, parking lot, or street and walk across the crosswalk from the parking lot on their own.
  • Additionally, handicapped parking spaces are reserved for those with a handicapped parking sign and should not be used for drop off.

Car Riders:

  • Students will be dismissed at 3:10 p.m.
  • The front car line will be utilized to dismiss K-2nd grade students, along with their older siblings. The back car line will be utilized to dismiss 3rd-5th grade students.
  • Parents must have the school provided car tag to pick up their student. If you do not have a car tag, you will be asked to park and come inside to have our office staff check our ID before your child will be dismissed to you.

Walkers:

  • Bike riders and walkers will be dismissed from two locations this year. You will be able to
  • All Kindergartners and 1st graders must have a parent pick them up from the walker area. You will need to show your car tag until we learn who each child’s parent/guardian is.
  • You may also choose to have an older sibling (grades 2-5) pick them up, but a note from the parent must be provided.

Transportation Changes:

  • In the event you have a transportation change, please call the front office prior to 2:00pm. Messages will be delivered to classrooms by office staff.

❓Frequently Asked Questions ❓Frequently Asked Questions

What if I need to bring something to my child during the school day?

If you need to drop off items for your child during the school day, you may utilize the baskets in the front entry of the school. We have labeled them with grade levels and will check periodically throughout the day. A staff member will ensure that your child gets their item delivered to the classroom in a timely manner.

Can my child bring a snack?

Snack time is designated within the school day by the teacher. Snacks should be sent daily and should be healthy in nature and non-messy. Snacks that require utensils or could cause a mess are not allowed (applesauce, yogurt, etc.) as students will continue to learn/work during snack time. If your child's classroom is a nut-free zone, your child's teacher will communicate this to you.

How do I drop off medication for my child?

If your child will need medication administered during school hours, please be advised you will need to drop off medication and fill out the medication form prior to the first day of school.

Please call our campus nurse, Karen Sawyer, at 469-219-2390, or email her (kesawyer@prosper-isd.net) to schedule a time to drop off the medication and fill out the medication form.

What do I do if my child is absent?

Below you will find a quick overview of the PISD School Attendance policies, but it is highly recommended that parents review the Student Handbooks for your child's campus located on the PISD website (click here) to become familiar with the Attendance policy.

  1. Parents should notify the school the morning their child will be absent. All absence notifications and notes will be submitted electronically. Parents will notify the campus of a student’s absence through Skyward Family Access as opposed to calling or emailing the campus attendance clerk to notify the school of the student’s absence. Additionally, this electronic documentation satisfies the signed parent note requirement (state required documentation). When an absence request is submitted through Skyward Family Access, the attendance clerk/registrar will be notified by email. Please go to your child's campus page and choose Attendance under the parents tab to submit an absence.
  2. When a student returns from an absence at a doctor's office, a signed doctor’s note displaying the date on which the student was seen in the office must be sent to the school attendance email (hall-attendance@prosper-isd.net) within 2 days of the absence. The parent indication that the student was at the doctor will not qualify as a doctor's note. Please go to your child's campus page and choose Attendance under the parents tab to submit a doctor's note.

You will also find a click sheet linked at the bottom of that page to walk you through this process. The link to the Hall Attendance page is below.

https://www.prosper-isd.net/o/haes/page/attendance

If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to let us know. We are happy to help you with this new process.

What if I need to drop off my child late or pick them up early?

If you need to drop your child off late (after 7:50am), please walk your child to the front office.

If you need to pick your child up early, you must present a photo ID in order to sign your child out. Please know that we have over 900 students this year, and we must comply with the safety measures and procedures we have put in place.

In order to protect and maximize our instructional minutes, we will not call students down to the office until you arrive so please allow extra time for this. Due to the movement of students at the end of the day and the size of our student body, students will not be checked out early after 2:40 p.m.
