I trust this message finds you well. It is with great pleasure that I welcome our pupils back after the Easter break. The start of this term has been particularly enjoyable, with the glorious weather conditions complementing our return to academic pursuits.

We look forward to a term filled with academic growth and achievement.

CHRISTIAN VALUE OF THIS HALF-TERM

We are proud to be a Church of England school

Out vision is, 'Learning and growing in the love of God' (1 John 4:16)

We focus on one Christian value each half-term. This term, the focus of collective worship and wider school activiites is on 'Honesty.'

NEW LEARNING

We are delighted to report that our pupils have seamlessly reintegrated into their lessons, demonstrating commendable enthusiasm for their new learning objectives. The introduction of exciting new topics across our curriculum has ignited a palpable sense of curiosity and engagement among our children.

SATs

We would like to draw your attention to an important upcoming event in our academic calendar.

The Standardised Assessment Tests (SATs) for our Year 6 pupils will commence on 12th May.

These assessments play a significant role in measuring our pupils' progress and attainment.

As always, we remain committed to supporting our pupils throughout this period, ensuring they approach these assessments with confidence and composure.

  • Monday, May 12, 2025:
    • English grammar, punctuation, and spelling papers 1 and 2
  • Tuesday, May 13, 2025:
    • English reading
  • Wednesday, May 14, 2025:
    • Mathematics papers 1 (Arithmetic) and 2 (Reasoning)
  • Thursday, May 15, 2025:
    • Mathematics paper 3 (Reasoning

We are proud of all of the Year 6 pupils and would like to reiterate that they are well prepared. SATs will not define their futures.

We would ask that on the day of each assessment, the children arrive at 8.45am prompt, where they will have a light breakfast, drink and teachers take time to reassure and support all pupils.

Thank you for your support and help.

WEATHER

While the weather is sunny and warm, please send your child with a suitable hat, sun screen and water bottle. Many thanks.
