Principal Message
The last week of January brought some lovely weather for out door activities.
Thursday marked Ms. Corcoran's last day with our K/1 class. We wish her all the best as she moves to her new role in Parkland School Division. Ms. Corcoran has been a valuable asset to our school community, and we will miss her. Mrs. Jenna Robinson will be returning from leave next week.
Tuesday we had our monthly hot lunch sponsored by DRAX. Students and staff enjoyed pizza from Wildwood 2 for 1.
On Wednesday grade 4-6 students went to Blue Ridge Eagle Point for cross country skiing and outdoor learning. Grade 5/6 students worked on building outdoor structures, grade 4s learned about aspects of the fur trade. This trip would not have been possible without Evansview School and Niton Central School who graciously allowed us to utilize their skiing equipment. I also want to thank the staff and parent volunteers that helped on this trip. Our grade k-3 will be doing a similar trip in February.
Tomorrow is PD day, so no school for students. Wildwood Staff will be joining Evansview for the morning for cross site collaboration and professional learning. In the afternoon we will be going to Grand Trunk school to look at the future elementary space and join the Grand Trunk staff for professional learning on the new MyPowerHub portal for Powerschool. The school office will be closed on Friday as a result.
We will be scheduling tours for parents and students later this spring.
Next week is a short one with only three days before teachers head to convention. On Wednesday the 4th we have a field trip to watch a performance of Pinocchio at Evansview School.
You may have also heard discussion of early dismissal at some GYPSD schools. That does not apply to Wildwood School, we will have a full school day on Wednesday.
I also wanted to share with you that at our February 10th School Council Meeting Grand Trunk School principal Heidi Zadderey will be joining us to discuss and take questions about the new amalgamated school starting in 26/27.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out by calling the school at 780-325-3858 or emailing me at alanstoy@gypsd.ca

FOPLS
Our students from Evansview, Wildwood, and Grand Trunk High School are coming together under one roof — and we want to make sure they have a playground that brings them together too!
The Friends of Pembina Learning Society (FOPLS) is running a raffle fundraiser to help create a fun, safe, and engaging space where kids can play, grow, and make memories for years to come.
Your support will help make this playground a place our children are proud to call their own!
