Hound Dog Huddle
October 23rd, 2026
Principal's Message:
Happy Friday Hilton Families!
We've had a great and very busy week here at Hilton!
- We started the week off on Monday with pajama day to celebrate hitting one of our milestones for the Hound Dog Run fundraising!
- Our third and fourth grade students completed the math portion of the NWEA this week.
- First, Second and Fourth grade took field trips this week to enhance their learning outside the classroom.
- We had our third fire drill of the year this Thursday. Students did a great job walking safely and quietly outside during this drill.
- Our first huddle was this Tuesday. Students either met their new groups, or returned to their existing ones, building connections and making nametags for the remainder of our group sessions.
- Picture Retakes were this Thursday. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces.
- We celebrated another Hound Dog Fundraising goal with "Stinky Feet Day" today, where students were able to take their shoes off in class.
- We had the Jumpin' All Stars visit all classes during specials today, and even welcome our students into the building this morning!
Note to parents about lost and found:
We very graciously have a parent volunteer that comes in and sorts our lost and found for us each week. If items have a name on them, we are able to return them to the student at that time. Anything unlabeled will be placed in the Lost and Found shed outside near where adults line up for pick up.
Please label everything that you can- it is incredibly helpful in returning items to students!
Additionally, please take a peek in the lost and found while you are waiting in line at dismissal for anything that may look familiar so that it can make its way back home!
Hound Dog Run Update:
Our Hilton Hound Dog Run will be on Friday, October 30th this year.
We’ve officially reached our fourth Hound Dog Run goal of $20,000, and students will be getting an extra recess in the next coming weeks at a time selected by their classroom teacher!
As of this week, we have raised $22,310. We've got just one week left so let’s keep encouraging the kids so we can hit our big goal of $30,000 by the Hound Dog Bash to Slime Mrs. Belanger!
Parking Lot Reminders:
A few quick parking lot reminders:
- Please only have students exit the car on the side of the sidewalk when in the drop off lane.
- Please do not cut through the cross walk in the parking lot when exiting the parking lot after drop off. This is where students and families walk through and it is dangerous to have vehicles driving through it.
- Please refrain from texting or cell phone use while in the drop off lane. Attentive drivers helps the line move more smoothly and efficiently.
While we are hopeful that Hilton will be receiving some additional space and modifications to our parking lot with the proposed bond, we still need to ensure we are following these expectations while dropping off students to maintain safety and efficiency in the morning. Thank you for your help in this.
Neighborhood Reminders:
As a reminder, while the district has instated that there is no left turn out of the Hilton Elementary School parking lot during drop off and pick up times to alleviate more back ups, we do ask that you try not to cut through the neighboring subdivisions on your way out. We are getting reports of people speeding through these areas after leaving our parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation in this.
Thank you all for your continued support and partnership, and have a wonderful weekend.
Warmly,
Erin Belanger
Hilton Elementary Principal
