Mrs. Elliott's Message
This week our staff was excited to welcome back students to school after our surprise day off on Monday. Students entered the building smiling and hugging their friends, as if they hadn't seen each other in years:) This made my heart very happy!
Our students have been busy this week, both with easing back into the routine of things as well as showing what they know on their Reading MAP tests. Over the next couple of weeks, we will continue to assess our students since we have reached the midpoint of the school year.
It is already time again for our second round of parent-teacher conferences. If you haven't already scheduled a time to meet with your child's teacher, please use the link below to do so. We so appreciate the time to share all of your child's successes!

2nd Grade authors have been working on writing procedural texts, sharing their knowledge of how to take specific steps to create something (a topic of their choice). Check out Aiden's steps on how to make a paper airplane!
Coloring Contest Winner
Applebee's in North Olmsted held a Coloring Contest for students at Maple and Chestnut! You may have seen a snowman coloring sheet come home with your child, or they may have decided to color this during indoor recess. North Olmsted residents who visited Applebees voted on the winner and that student was . . .

Students in Mrs. Stuart's class will be taking a field trip to Applebees later in the month to enjoy lunch and tour the kitchen to see how their food is prepared!
